Agree on good for Mrazek, and the cap. Disagree on Veleno. I don't watch the Wings a ton, but he always looks like a passenger when I see him play. Would rather sign a legit NHL 4th line C than have him on the roster.

We (highly) likely suck next year....let him play bottom of the lineup/pressbox until a kid can beat him out. You can also buy him out at 795k (and 295k the following season).

Just IMO, but I'd rather get a legit 4th line C than stick a failed soft/skilled player in that role. At least have a legit NHLer in the role rather than more roster filler not suited to their role.

Funny, though I think he was trying to respond to a post of mine from earlier (I was the one who wrote that sentence). Though he had already responded to it once already. And he either screwed up with the formatting unintentionally so it looked like he was responding to his own comments or that's just part of HF acting all sorts of funky with their servers wanting to commit suicide today.

I think you are reading way to much into this move....this was all about breaking a logjam of 4 NHL goalies by moving the one that has been not just bad, but brutal the last 2-3 months that is owed 4.25 next season. We were never getting a useful piece for Mrazek and the fact we only took back 2.275 in an equally bad forward is actually pretty surprising to me. Look at it this way, as bad off a fit as Veleno might be (I'll take your word for it), he is a much better fit than 4 NHL level goalies.

Remember when he was having that big career year and got traded to Jackets and then proceeded to suck ass and falter as NHLer

Sens didnt' make mistake of keeping Dzingel like some media/fans wanted. They wisely traded him for Duclair + two 2nd round picks

Agree on this being a win no matter what they do with Veleno. Veleno is just exactly what I don't want on next years team, so hoping something happens between now and then in the way of buyout or Rockford demotion.

With that said, good move on KDs part getting Mrazek out smoothly at minimal cost.
