Haven't followed this years prospects too much yet but from my limited viewings I take Martone every day of the week before Misa.

Only reason to take Misa over Martone is the center aspect. But Martone brings too many qualities we need as well.

Slaf is big and will be strong but he doesn't have the nastiness of Martone.

It just puts a lot of pressure on Dach finding his game and Hage hitting as a 2C.

You'd also be at Demidov Laine Slafkovsky Caufield Martone at wing so you'd be most assuredly be moving on from Laine.

I still think as of right now there's a notable drop after the top 4 prospects of Schaefer, Martone, Hagens and Misa.

I love Caleb Desnoyers (In my top 10 right now) but he's certainly not at the level of these top 4 players. McQueen is hurt until he comes back and proves he can stay healthy, he's not going to be included with these top 4. I would need to see more of Frondell so hopefully he plays at the WJC.

Look out for Justin Carbonneau, he's be scoring fantastic pace lately with 20 goals and 22 assists in 26 games. I don't think he will go top 10 (more than likely top 20) but it's still great production from a draft eligible player. Carter Bear is absolutely ripping it up right now too.

Moving on from Laine is not a problem. In all likelyhood, he should produce up to next season's TDL and he'll bring in quite a haul.

looks like Hagens is slipping down the rankings a bit and Misa is moving up?
FWIW, I wouldn't necessarily say Hagens is slipping, it's more other players are trending up. He's having a good start to his season all told, just not spectacular the way a consensus 1st OV is expected to have. I rate him the same way I did before the start of the season in any case, he is what he always was.

From my YouTube viewings (take it for what it’s worth), when you compare the two, you notice a big gap in involvement. Misa is balls to the wall and has a speed and shot that seems outrageous. Plus the size is easily in his corner.

On the other end Hagens looks very cerebral, great instincts but doesn’t gel as much with Leonard and Perrault ( in the 1st OV sense). He makes some quality passes that just blows your mind. I think the “Quick Look” favours Misa but that’s just a short answer. Both will bring the heat in the NHL no doubt.

Schaefer and Martone invited to the World Junior Selection camp and McKenna also invited for 2026 draft.

I mean, I wasn't expecting them to invite Michage Hage because Hockey Canada are a bunch of dumb asses, but i'm mildly surprised that they didn't invite even invite Beckett Sennecke or Tij Iginla unless i'm missing something.

If Habs can't draft Misa, Schaefer, Hagens or Martone... my target would be Caleb Desnoyers for sure.

I think after the top 4, Desnoyers should be selected at this point. He looks way more promising than PLD to me. His skillset are very mature. At worst scenario, I see a very good top 6 two-way C in NHL level.

This guy is very very legit!

Both look like legit franchise players, lets hope there isn't a goofy RHD in the mix Kent will grab instead.

Both should be there, and I wouldn't even have Riley Heidt on my radar don't care for him at all

Misa, Hagens or Martone causes less "problems" than Schaefer does.

I think if we take Schaefer you pretty much have to flex Guhle to RD long term. Which is a fine problem to have.

I prefer drafting a forwards thats for sure. But if we draft Schaefer, i would trade Hutson. Yes, i know, i go against everybody. If you draft Schaefer, he’s on your futur PP1 wave, almost playing the whole 2 minutes. Hutson with no PP time, i don’t see that much value in that going forwards. I would go with Schaeffer first LD, Guhle second LD with good size and two way D and Xhekaj on a third pair with 14-15 minutes, heavy physical pair.

Throw me your tomatoes guys.

I'm not throwing tomatoes, but you could use Schaefer on PP2 like Dallas sometimes does with Heiskanen.. it allows you to use Hutson on the PP1 and give way more 5 on 5 ice time to Schaefer.

There's ways to make it all work; would not lose sleep over any one of them but think Martone and Misa/Hagens slide right in very nicely.

Something about Martone-Dach(if he finds his game again)-Demidov that brings a smile to my face.

Did Gabriel D'Aigle end up not living up to the hype? I see the stats don't look great but sometimes there's more context. I never watched him play, just remember a lot of chatter around him when he was picked high int he Q draft.

Drafting Desnoyers and Carbonneau would also shut some media mouth for a couple of years

I was expecting much more out of Guite . He's been borderline awful with Chicoutimi so far this season.
Agree, he’s my biggest disappointment in the who Q
