I haven't seen much of Genborg. And what I did see was at the U18s for Sweden (where I was watching mostly for other prospects) and some J20 games from last year when he had a pretty minor role for his team.

Aside from that I have yet to watch him play in the J20 this season, and so I can't speak about his game with any kind of honesty and certainty.
First seen Genborg in last summer H/G. Good size, wheels, played very physical. Looking at Hockey db numbers, he's having great year. Big jump from last year. Try get a look at him

I was trying to "compare" the offensive talent of this draft with those of 2023/24, taking into account how they were at the time of the draft and the potential I see in them. I took the top 5 from each year imo, and came to this conclusion:

1 Bedard
2 Celebrini
3 Michkov
4 Hagens
5 Demidov
6 Misa
7 Carlsson
8 Fantilli
9 Smith
10 Martone
11 Artamonov
12 Frondell
13 Catton
14 McQueen
15 Lindstrom

My best case scenario

#4 - Misa/Scheafer
#19 - O'Brien/Jackson Smith
#36 - Lakovic
#38 - Fiddler

Rafael Meirer is having a good season in the NL, he only played 6 games with Reinbacher last year so I don't recall him off the top of my head. It's the last year he's eligible, currently tied with Rohrer for 2nd OA in pts for U-21 skaters, might be someone of interest with one of the late round picks we have if he keeps this up. His twin is teammates with Ben Merrill currently.

I was bored at work and looked up the average size of NHL teams.

Every team is 6'1/6'2 for average height.

Minnesota was at 6' even.

16 teams are 6'1, 15 teams 6'2 and 1 at 6'

Basically it would seem if your hopes for who the draft has more than 1, or 2 (depending on how many picks) are below 6'1 your draft choices probably suck

For goaltenders.. i am ok with that and 5th and 6th defensemen......but...

Look at the end of the season..... the points leaders and you will see that half of them are sub 6.0.

Look at the best players in history of hockey and you will see that half of them are sub 6.0

No wonder why dumb Gm and Scouts missed Lane Hutson...

A lot of scouts could be replace by our grandmothers when their only thing to watch are skating, height and weight.........

And the vast majority of them are 1st round picks.

3 of the top 10 were 1st overall and another 3 were top 10 picks.

This team has been drafting players below that size for decades now. How many stars have they drafted in the past 30 years ? Stars in general ?

You can still draft a player on the small side, but you want to make sure they've showed they're skilled, like Hutson.

What I'm saying is if the Habs have 10 picks, we shouldn't be seeing 4, 5, 6, or more picks where the players are under the NHL size.

Feels more and more like Desnoyers should be the target with our own first, unless we end up picking top 5 again. If we somehow end up in the 12-ish range, he might even be worth trading up a few spots to make sure we land him. I can really see the 2C pro potential there.
Desnoyer would be a dream. He plays exactly the type of game this team needs.

I think Demidov will be better than Hagens. Much better goalscorer IMO.

High possibility that he can ends up being 2nd on this list. I really like Celebrini, but Demidov is a literally bulldog with high offensive skillset. That's a massive combo!

That is some truly terrible reasoning.

Nah, the Habs were and still kind of are stuck in drafting players with nothing tangible about them and below NHL average size.

Hage 6'1, Demidov 6'1, Slaf 6'4, Reinbacher 6'3.

You're also using broad strokes regarding size across positions, when there's a big discrepency in size between positions. Goalies are ~6'3 on average. Dmen are ~6'2. Forwards are just under ~6'1 on average. Among forwards, centermen is the smallest of all positions, averaging closer to 6'0. NHL average is just a little over 6'1 and not even close to 6'2, contrarily to your assertion.

Desnoyers has been getting better and better in all my viewings, Im starting to think he can crack my top 5 and challenge the other 2 centers. He certainly is the better rounded of the 3, has the size advantage and fills alot of boxes I love in a player, especially a center. The skills are top 6 level for sure and the 200 ft. game really strong. I like that he finishes his checks as well.

I got 6 players at this point I really like and would be more than happy to get. Hagens, Misa, Martone, Schaefer, Desnoyers, Hensler. Need to watch more of Frondell... Is he playing in the allsvenskan right now?

I love Desnoyers since his time with the Gaulois, if where not picking top 5, he needs to be the target

Yes, he plays with Djurgardens IF in Allsvenskan, but is currently injured - again. He missed the back half of last season and Hlinka due to injury. Ankle, I think. I'm not sure what his current injury is.

Draft eligible Victor Eklund is playing 1st line RW for them, too. He plays with terrific pace & can be relentless in his pursuit of the puck. He's currently under valued, imo.
