No I don’t and neither do you. None of the centers are in the Celebrini category. Contrary to what many here think, there aren’t many centers better than Suzuki in the NHL.

Let’s put it this way, there are a ton of better dmen than Guhle in the NHL but not a ton of better centers than Suzuki. So why are we passing up on a clear cut upgrade at a weaker position and probably the best player in the draft for someone who likely won’t overtake Suzuki but would rather complement him?

I would bet on Misa surpassing Suzuki. As a prospect he's been better than Nick at every comparable stage and I don't think it's unreasonable to think that continues in the NHL.

He's a better prospect than Suzuki was, but that alone doesn't mean he will surpass Suzuki. Cody Glass was a better prospect than Suzuki, how did that turn out? Not saying Misa will be Cody Glass 2.0 but there are a lot of factors to consider. Primarily the fact that Misa isn't a slam dunk #1C like Celebrini/Bedard and there aren't that many #1Cs better than Suzuki.

Justin Carbonneau is a 6'2'' RW who has 38 goals in 52 games (73 pts).Powet forward with a great shut (snipper), not afraid to play in traffic and skating is good.I would select him with our second first choice because the Habs do not have many true snipers.

From nhlentrydraft.com ( scouting report):Carbonneau has the potential to be an elite offensive contributor at the next level, but he may need to mature and round out his game to secure a spot in the top six on an NHL roster. For a team seeking more offensive talent in their forward group, Carbonneau would be a solid mid-first-round pick in the 2025 draft.4 févr. 2025

I'm seeing a lot of top 6 talk here...
I don't see us picking higher than 7/8 so those big names likely won't be in the conversation.
How big is the next tier or is it still all over the map at this point?

Yes, 100%

We don't have any natural RW, who shoots right and have some grit.

He's got great tools but I have some pretty significant concerns about his hockey sense. I think that will limit him to being a bottom 6er, maybe carving out a Will Carrier type career.

All over the map.

Top 7 is generally considered to include: Schaefer, Misa, Frondell, Hagens, Martone, Eklund & Desnoyers.

After that, there's Mrtka (RD), Smith (LD), Lakovic (big W), Bear (LW), O'Brien (C), Martin (C), Kindel (C), Spence (W), and then there's McQueen, a top 8 forward that's been out majority of the season due to a bad back.

How far will Hagens fall ?

For the hype he is and the team he's playing with his season is rather underwhelming.

No way anyone even considers this guy going top 4. Well, unless Schaefer's injury is more concerning.

Don't know if it's been said but Grant McCagg said he had an info that McQueen is aiming for a come back on march 4th.
