A probable late 2nd / 3rd rounder - Max Psenicka - 6'4 RD just moved over to Portland from Czech league and U20's. He arrived this past weekend, got a couple of assists in two games... worth keeping an eye on.

We already have Jakub Dobes, Yevgeni Volokhin and more in the pipeline. So I don't know. I would rather move up with both pick and have a chance to grab one of Desnoyers//Frondell//Eklund

At this point, I'm aiming at one of Desnoyers or Frondell. If ether is a chance at the top 4, off course you do it but I don't see any team trading down from the top 4.

We're only 5 pts up on 5th place Anaheim. A top 5 pick is still do-able.

Realistically, WC2 in West is already down to Vancouver or Calgary. We obviously want Calgary to miss.

If they do, we need two of Detroit, NYI or Boston to stay better than Calgary pushing Calgary to 14th spot. A top 15 pick. If they get picks 16-18, we can probably use our other picks to move up into 10-12 range.

I'm also no longer against taking a LD, especially with Guhle's gruesome injury. BPA.

It seems like Desnoyers is this years riser. Being a centre I could see him sneak into the top 4 and potentially bump Martone. It all depends on how the lottery shakes out.

I think Schaefer is #1 for all of the teams with a shot at the bottom.

Looking at their other needs. Chicago could use a RW to pair with Bedard down the middle, but may also look to a 2nd line centre. San Jose is also a team I could see going for a winger if Schaefer is off the board. They have Smith and Celebrini as centres.

If San Jose gets 1st overall and no picks move I could see as of today.....

1. Sharks - Schaefer
2. Hawks - Hagens
3. Buffalo - Misa
4. Nashville - Desnoyers
5. Seattle - Martone

As your top 5. Nashville make go Martone, but they could also use a centre. Stamkos and O'Reilly are getting old and not cutting it. Ran a Tankathon after typing everything above and literally just got this on first try. LOL!

With how we've been playing lately and the Guhle injury on top of it, I think we'll be sinking into the Top 10 with our pick. Probably 8-10. I think the Calgary pick will be around 16-19.

I need to study up a lot more on the possible picks, and have more inspiration now that we're going to be falling quite a bit here in the standings. First thought is I'd really like to see us draft a center with our own pick: Desnoyers or Bear could/should be available.

I'd really like to see a high-compete type winger with size with that second pick. Malcolm Spence might be a choice there.
