Dick-related puns are kinda borderline, but I think they're acceptable so long as they aren't specifically about Sam Dickinson the person.

Anything specifically discussing the genitalia of teenagers or sexual acts around teenagers (ie get hard for Bedard) is extremely gross.
Also around sports in general... Like, let's not get hard about anything hockey related. At a MINIMUM it is an ineffective state in which to play hockey, but seriously, I just never got it.

Yes. I shouldn't have. I erased it, and agree to be way more careful in the future.
And you shouldn't have posted this either
Please, Dickinson Pick was my father. Call me Dick Pic.
If it really honestly bothers you, I will delete my post. But can you honestly not see the difference between me posting a silly pun that had nothing to do with Dickinson as a person and you posting a thread title proposal that graphically describes a 17 year old's bits? I think there's a significant difference here.

No, we are good. You're absolutely right, there is a difference, mine was way way worse, which is why I deleted it. Apologies to everyone!

Back to the draft. Seems like it’s clear who the Sharks should pick at each pick. If they get 1st overall after the lottery — Schaefer. 2nd - Hagens. 3rd — Misa 4th - Martone 5th — baby Eklund.

The debate we've all been having... and the same conclusion. Nothing of real value in here.

1. Schaefer isn't the clear-cut #1, so it would be reasonable to select a forward.
2. If he is the clear-cut #1, you take him and deal with the consequences down the road.
3. Could maybe trade down but those types of trades are hard.

Not the clear statement of "Chicago will pick a forward no matter what!" that a lot of us were hoping for.

While I'm here, Steven Ellis put out a new ranking as well, which I think are pretty good. I agree with his top-6 in order, anyway.

Trading down in the top-3, nevermind a 1st overall pick, just reeks of regret down the road. Unless it's a staggering overpayment (at the time, at least).

If Hensler or Mrtka end up sliding into the low 20's, I would absolutely advocate for acquiring a pick in that range in order to draft one or the other. If not, I would stand pat and play my lottery tickets.

Well, damn. Now I’m REALLY glad we lost today. He does sound like Neidermayer-lite and that’s saying a lot. What a team this would be with Askarov, Schaefer and Celebrini.
It's a good write-up. I'm happy people around here are coming around to why I've been so incredibly high on Schaefer since the U18 last May.

All the little things that frustrate me about Dickinson sometimes are things that Schaefer does at an elite level: decision-making, agility, puck-handling.

Celebrini, Schaefer, and Askarov is a Cup-winning core. Add in the likes of Smith, Eklund, Dickinson, et al and you have something seriously cooking.

I’m excited by the description of his skating too. I’m a sucker for high-end skaters (I loved watching Boyle skate, Neidermayer, Makar, etc.) and would kill to have one on our defense (Walman is a good skate but he’s not that level).

Watching the Blue Jackets today it was really clear what several good defensemen can do for your team - I’ve forgotten. It really showed how glaringly bad ours is.

To have the luxury of Schaefer - Dickinson and then hopefully Cagnoni or Muhk would be amazing.

I'm content to let this draft come to us. It's totally out of our control and with Celebrini in the bag, we aren't in dire need of that #1OA piece (of course it would be amazing).

But I do want to pick top 4. Upcoming games:

NYI - let's win this one.
BOS - 10am PT start? Woof. But F Boston. Would love to steal it.
B2B vs. NSH - let's hope the guys do a honkey tonk crawl and lose both due to hangovers.
Panthers - Likely loss
PIT - would love to beat them because Dubas sucks, I like their misery I guess, and let's see Celly beat his childhood idol
Kraken - for the tank, hope we lose, but this is eminently winnable

Takes us into Feb. I would "prefer" 3-4 but a likely outcome is 2-5 without injuries.
