Record 9 MLB teams docked $311M in luxury tax
The Dodgers, Mets and Yankees were the highest penalized among the record nine teams to be over the MLB's luxury tax threshold for 2024.
Wouldn't mind replacing Crawford there. Felt like he was getting pounded in the last 1/3 of the year at least. I could see regression there, but feel like he would have big value to a lot of teams. I would at least keep an open mind. Would love either Tanner Scott or Yates. They were 6th in AL in starter ERA based on primarily
Bello
Houck
Crawford
Criswell
Bello was rocky but 15 of 30 starts 2 runs or less and 20-10 in starts
Every, every, every former pitcher on mlb network from Leiter, Plesac, Peavy ….said Crochet has number one stuff
Giolito ready for camp. I like him if healthy and says is - he’s a legit 3
You got Fitts & Criswell for 6 -8 plus the starter they like they got from Pirates I swap of former first rounders. Love the Sandoval gamble / guy had around a 125 ERA + from 21-23. Beast mind set
If this was stratomatic of my APBA League fantasy stuff I offer a gazillion dollars for Burnes
- but my account gut says they will have 75 M signed up between Crochet, Houck, Bello. I’m all for Burnes but if I owned team I don’t do 8 years / 3 or 4 for 30 M area yes
The Mets & Dodgers are going rouge and will eventually lead to a hard cap and loopholes closed although likely all the present contracts grandfathered in. I don’t see Sox doing this - the Yankees are irked what Mets are doing as they are getting roasted for not being fiscally irresponsible
I go after Yates - love him. Get him 2 years so where Whitlock is
Tanner Scott would be homerun but don’t see it
Give me Bregman, 4th OF, backup C, and Yates or Scott

Haha - fantastic
He was but he’s got good stuff.
Most he’s ever thrown
Needs to be cut back usage when arm dead - I’d skip him a start every 5 starts - when on he’s really good
Dick Fitts & Cooper Criswell need to contribute- both looked good in limited role
Haha - fantastic
Very creative
My dream scenario is you going at it with Stephen A Smith ripping him a new one
YesWhat do you think the age cutoff is for people to get that reference without an explanation? No chance anyone under 30 does, right?
RIP Ricky Henderson
I remember him when he was in Boston for a season and he was always happy and boy did he love the fans. I obviously remember him mostly when he played in Oakland. A sad day for baseball and the sports world.Sad.
One of the few players we could say were as good on the field as they were entertaining off it.
Rest in Peace to one of my all time favorites!
I feel like I age a decade every week lately.Wow, I can't believe Rickey died. That, and my recent physical problems make me feel really old.
Rickey likes that story about Rickey. My story is third-hand but pretty good. My stepfather knew a fellow who pitched in triple AAA for the A's. He once picked Rickey off first in Spring training and Rickey said: "Nobody picks Rickey off first base."My favorite Rickey story (which has been denied by everyone involved, but is still testament to his personality) is when he went to spring training with the Mariners and told John Olerud that he used to play with a guy who wore a helmet in the field when he was in Toronto and Olerud had to explain that that was him.
Rickey is a goldmine of goofy stories/ancedotes.My favorite Rickey story (which has been denied by everyone involved, but is still testament to his personality) is when he went to spring training with the Mariners and told John Olerud that he used to play with a guy who wore a helmet in the field when he was in Toronto and Olerud had to explain that that was him.
i would have thought more likely he was thinking of a comeback with the A’s this coming season
Of all the sports players who’ve died last 10 years this one really stuns me and feel old
ExactlyForget an athlete, if you told me any human being was going to live to 200 Rickey would have been my number one choice because I would just assume he wouldn't know to die.
In the truest sense of the word, one-of-a-kind.
