I guess I'll be okay with Buehler.

I really want Roki Sasaki, honestly.

Just don't trade important futures for Crochet if you're not close to contending

Forgot about that. Never mind. Flaherty?

Yeah, Flaherty, Eovaldi, and Buehler are the top 3 remaining starters (after Burnes) on Fangraph's board.

I think the funniest timeline would be bringing back Pivetta and Eovaldi. Would really fit everyone's favorite sequel: Full Throttle 2: Electric Boogaloo.

FWIW …

Translation:
“As I mentioned earlier, Corbin Burnes is the number one priority for Boston. According to my source, they are very close to reaching an agreement.”

Isn't that guy just a wannabe insider? Mostly seems to repeat what real reporters have already said or just be speculative.

....Red Sox ownership have willingly turned themselves into the Brewers, their reputation around the league has diminished and the fanbase is only going to care less and less. Maybe if they get bullied enough they'll throw the fans a bone once in a while but they just don't care anymore.
As a Brewer fan, I take offense to that remark. ;)

In all seriousness, Boston is stuck in the middle. They can't/won't spend with the big clubs, and they aren't good enough at constructing a competitive roster as some of the smaller market clubs like Milwaukee are..

Theres a current ace on the market and Breslow is making comments about Michael Fulmer, who hasn't been a regular starter since 2020. I hope to live to see the day John Henry is no longer owner of the Sox.

I'm not sure the West Coast wants Burnes.

Dodgers don't have a need. Seattle doesn't have a need.

Angels reportedly aren't interested.

Padres are looking to shed payroll.

Maybe the Giants?
The Giants are definitely in play. Texas might be as well.

Thank god only teams like the Dodgers, Mets and Yankees are so stupid to overpay for free agents, what have these 3 bum-teams done recently with that spending-strategy? Unlike the Tampa Bay Red Sox and their smart approach only signing FAs like Story and Yoshida to market value contracts, which is why both of these guys can't be given away for free.

After Burnes gets something like 8 / 250, the remaining best shot is Buehler. But he is also going to get a 3 year contract, which is the term they refused to give Lugo last year.
