It would be nice to land Byram
hfboardsPostersWithJobsInMgmt++;I'm gonna step out for 20 minutes or so. That means there's a good chance something happens in that time.![]()
Feels like they could build a package around Ferraro, 1st, +As much as I love the idea, I don't know if the Sharks have the pieces to make that work. Buffalo wants roster players, not futures and the Sharks don't have any real players of consequence to offer off their roster aside from Ferraro unless you dip into the players that actually look like they have a future with this team like Zetterlund
EDIT: lol, the timestamp on this post says "in a moment". I've posted into the future and can now control space and time!!!!!
Years of being here, and years of the programmers not having any clue or being too cheap to properly prepare for the amount of traffic to the site.
It's an HF tradition.
Well, Rants is apparently coming down on his 14 AAV and it looks like the Dallas deal is back to done.If I had to guess, it's because we're a hockey site (niche) and because forums are a largely deprecated site style that needs more investment than other things to make it work effectively.
Basically we're not important enough to get the resources we need to sort this out effectively.
And yes, this means I'm back and the only thing I missed was Schenn to the Jets. That's a win for me.

Mario gives them a good d man to replace byram and the 1st + gives them ammo to acquire other roster players from different teams
Patience, grasshopper.Two complications:
1) If the rumors are that they want a 1st+ for Ferraro, I don't think that the value will line up. Grier will value Ferraro more than other teams and probably expect that Ferraro + mid-tier add should get him Byram. Buffalo will want more than just Ferraro and Grier will be reluctant because he thinks Ferraro is more valuable.
2) The problem isn't that the Sharks don't have assets. It's that they don't have the right kind of assets. Just swapping 1 d-man for another doesn't add to the Sabres enough to solve their needs even if it's a type shift. But the Sharks have little in the way of extra roster pieces that would be worth adding without digging into the parts of the team that Grier likely values as contributors to the eventual ascent. It's not like Ferraro + Kunin + Bordeleau is going to move the needle. Buffalo didn't take backany futures when dealing Cozens, they're not going to want that from the Sharks either.
