Yeah I'm personally in favor of Misa but I've been following him since before he got exceptional status, whereas admittedly I haven't seen enough of McQueen yet to make a fair judgement.
I just meant about the misunderstanding, personally I don't know shit about anyone except Hagens and with wat Bobby Mac has said about Hagens, I'm not as convinced we'll get a superstar in this draft if we pick top 5. Excellent, yeah, but not a superstar.

I can't say I know what centre the Flames will draft next June, but I can say they'll probably try to turn him into a winger anyway
Is this like that saying...

You can cure cancer, but f*** 1 sheep and you'll always be known as the sheep f***er.

Under this regime, only 1 center has been moved to the wing and he came up when we didn't need any centers and completely ignoring that tehy've moved Pospisil back to center after not plying it as a pro. Let's stop this overreaction before it begins. Also, every NHL team moves centers to the wing a large number of NHL wingers were centermen when they were drafted and in the minors.

2 months later and I still think its a top 7. Pretty much every list has the same guys at the top, just in different order.
I think Misa has climbed up a bit, having a great start and may even battle Hagens for #1. Everyone loves Martone too, and ofcourse McQueen and Frondell are Centers we'd drool over too. Ryabkin seems to have dropped a couple spots, and Schaeffer for the team not looking for a C.

Holy Snot - Misa is currently at a 2 ppg - 13 games, 17 G + 9A = 26 points.
There's your Center Conroy! Embrace the tank!

He has to be right there with Hagens, Martone too. It'll be an interesting year to see who can stay at the top.

This draft year's looking pretty strong so our 2nd pick should be good too. Over in the WHL there's a few guys flirting with 2 PPG; Nathan Behm, Cameron Schmidt, and Carter Bear. Luke Mistelbacher too but he's an overager. Eklund is playing well in Sweden, and Moore is doing well in the National Development Program rn

By 2nd pick - did you mean the NJ 1st rounder? There is a chance that is our 1st pick...

I had not heard of Nathan Behm, impressive jump in production & size, but I don't think he's on many 1st rnd lists. Even Schmidt many say will not be a 1st rnder - too small like Benak/Mooney.
Eklund & Moore are projected to land 10-20 though, which could be where that pick ends up.
I'd like to grab Ravensberger to keep the goalie hopes strong.

It’s refreshing to see an actual battle for 1st overall again. Other than 2022 you have to go all the way back to 2017 for the last time it was realistically up in the air midseason. Be even crazier considering when all is said and done, despite this being the year of the centre, I think Martone’s name could end up being the first off the board.

This draft is so promising. If the Flames f*** up the season and end up giving their 1st rnd pick to Montreal and are left with Florida's and New Jersey's first rnd picks I swear I'll stop watching them play.
Strong top 6 (Hagens, Martone, Misa, Frondell, Schaefer, McQueen). Then 5-6 decent prospects. Then not much else. Pretty bad in the second half of the first round imo

There is no battle, Hagens is going 1st.

On a high note, if we can't get the first 10, then we won't be picking until the end of the draft anyway.

I just hope the Flames fall off and can finally pick in the top 5 again. Doubt they get 1OA but I'd be over the moon if they got any of Misa, Martone, Schaefer, McQueen.
