McD giving praise to everyone in the organization and not taking all the credit is a big part of the positive culture and McBeane have built within the organization.

I know they hate giving 2 contracts to RBs but Cook is something else. Even with the depth they have there, I'd love to see him back.
Cook is signed through 2025.

Ray Davis is signed through 2027.

Ty Johnson is a UFA after this season.

I will not be shocked if they use a day 3 pick on a Johnson replacement that they hope can develop into a solid #2 with Ray Davis in 2026 & 2027.

I <3 Cook, but he's probably getting paid. Davis + another pick in the early-to-mid rounds should suffice.

Not sure that I like the idea of having Davis as a feature back. He's so compact in stature that he's not an ideal safety blanket for Allen if he needs to pass it off.

Cook is about 4 inches taller and lanky and I like when he lines up on the outside in empty backfield sets. That's a valuable element of his game.

I would be shocked if Beane cut Milano pre-6/1 given that his deal would be under water and it would be more costly to cut him than to keep him.

And the $11M in 2026 dead cap for a post-6/1 cut might mean that is off the table, as well.

Miller is an interesting one. I won't be surprised if they keep him if he looks good the rest of the season. And I won't be surprised if they cut him and save the over $8M against the 2025 cap.

A few thoughts, re: next year.

Miller is gone. It's really a question of pre/post 6/1. (eat the cap now or spread it over 2 years).

As for Milano....I think you are correct. There isn't a character issue there, its a health issue. Hopefully he can play the the late games and the playoffs.

You likely have to re-do Josh Allen's contract at some point as well, though that likely will save cap more than anything.

That makes sense. I was thinking Cook was only signed through this season. Love the Cook/Davis tandem.

He doesn't have the length or ability to slash like Cook but Davis is a heavier back, still quick and regarded as a better pass catcher than Cook. He's different but I don't think we're losing anything in the passing game.

Admittedly, I have a fascination with the longer RBs haha. Started with preferring McGahee over Henry immediately after he was drafted and that turned into Fred Jackson appreciation over Lynch and so forth. I just feel like those running backs with some length to them can get across the sticks easier and are more fluid when it comes to catching passes than the stout guys.

But I do like Ray Davis so far and if he wants to become our Maurice Jones-Drew one day then I'll gladly eat crow.

I saw something the other day that said the Ravens actually have some of the best separation in the league. I don’t think they have a problem with receivers not getting open…

E: Ooh, I actually saved the graphic!
