This game was a combination of old habits die hard and the Caps wanting revenge for getting embarrassed in the playoffs last year. They came out and made a statement that they aren't last year's Caps.

Is it sad to say we should switch 39 and 93? I'm both impressed with Carrick's play and absolutely disgusted by Mika. Time to get out Bread's clippers and shave his head.

Miller is a waste of athletic talent. Imagine being fox who is only elite because of what's between his ears and is held back by his size and speed. Meanwhile 6"5 Miller couldn't be bothered to harm a flea. The play where he lazily got beat on a dump in to the corner then got beat to the net and instead of lifting the bottom of the stick or disrupting it he aims for the hands and whiffs. We will never win relying on him to be our 1D. He's going to end up as the next Nurse contract.

When would we ever do that?

I dont think making kakko and chytil play with kreider is a reward. That sounds like punishment.

Their reward should be more ice team as a line with cuylle. Zibs and kreider should just play less even strength.

Maybe a good reward for kakko and chytil is more PP time.
Or a contract extension.

I wouldn’t necessarily switch the Chytil or Panarin lines but I would give them more ice time

Zibanejad has always been a streaky player so I assume at some point he’ll get his shit together, but right now he and that line deserve less ice time.

The defense is a bigger concern honestly. I’m tired of being gaslight by this team into thinking Jones isn’t one of the best 6 guys. Lindgren is running around with a busted jaw for christ sake, tell him to f*** off until he’s fully healed.

Near the end of the game, Miller rode Ovi into the end wall behind the net and bodied him like it was nothing. Frustrating that he chooses to get physical when he feels like it

The forwards are not helping at all either. When the defense make good, simple breakout passes, Mika and others completely muff them. Or, they try the fancy chip it off the wall plays only to chip it to the other team, or they throw it towards the middle of the ice for the other team at the blue line.

Here
Miller had a horrific game. From the drop of the puck to the final horn. Really bad

Drop Mika's line and make them earn more time. Take him off PP1 if it continues and replace him with Laf. Time for some accountability. Tables should be turned with some of the youth/vets.

1 Trocheck
2 Chytil
3 Mika
4 Carrick

Whatever this zone switch to man and chase a guy, leaving guys wide open, defense is needs to end now.

I was falling asleep and I thought I heard Ferraro say they switched the D pairings back. Was that a nightmare or was I watching a nightmare?

They went back to Lindgren-Fox at the end which we all knew they would at the first sign of trouble.

That's how bad Miller was last night. In previous years, down 1 in the 3rd, we switched and paired Miller and Fox. Last night, we switched away from them. Pretty sad that when Lav needed more offense, he moved Miller away from Fox. Don't recall ever seeing a guy with as much physical skills play that bad. The snow angle on the 2 on 1 was the icing on the cake.

Losing by a goal? That was more an indication that Miller stunk to high heaven last night.

K'Andre Miller is f***ing cooked.

How is it possible to get worse each year? He was a f***ing stud his first couple years in the league. He's an absolute pylon now
