It has been... for the last 50+ years.

The last time the Canucks selected in both the first and second rounds of the NHL entry draft was back in 2019 when they selected Vasily Podkolzin and Nils Hoglnder.

They didn't have a first and second rounder in 2020. They had no first rounder in 2021; and no second rounder in 2022. They had no second rounder in 2023; and of course in 2024 they'd previously traded away both their first and second rounder.

I know there are lots of Canuck fans who are convinced they can keep flushing draft picks for immediate help. But sooner or later, the past has a habit of catching up with you. So I wouldn't be in favor of another year in 2025 where they dumped yet another first rounder.
