We do need consistent success. That’s how we get the attendance and STH back up. At least 3-5 straight years of playoffs. Degray had 9 straight years of playoffs and left Owen Sound as the best team in the west. If he can do that in niagara than maybe his is our longterm option at gm
The last time Degray's Attack missed the playoffs was 09/10.

In that stretch, 12 consecutive 30 win seasons .

Hes consistent.

Two good ‘09s that are functionally illiterate? I’m not as concerned as some about Edgar leaving after two seasons. If he is, I expect the return to be somewhere between Beauchense and Czata.
I believe edgar will be in the ohl for 2 more years. So 3 years in total. I could see two good 09 or 09 former 1st or 2nd rounder plus 2 3rds and 2 4-6 picks.

Heard rumours that Degray was trying to get munnings and that bell was the asking price but didn’t think it would happen. I like this for the IceDogs. Munnings is a much better defender than Bell. He’s a lot more physical than Bell but has the speed to not get caught out of position often.

Sucks losing Bell because he looked poised to take over our PP qb role and he’s so good offensively but i’m always for filling the Dcore with Strong defenders who can hopefully develop an offensive game. The Left side of our D looks complete but wonder what the right side will look like with only Naish slated their.

I would imagine one of the imports is on the right side of the D maybe both

I know we have a real GM now, but all these moves still triggers the PTSD of when DDD took over and made trade after trade. I know it won't be the same
I mean Degray is an actual GM and has proven success. DDD was never a gm for a team he didn’t own and had no success even in JR B. I think all the trades happening is because the window just opened. Not expecting much more action. Maybe dell’elce, Hage get moved in minor deals. Maybe Roobroeck gets traded before the draft maybe after. That’s pretty much all I expect. Could be a minor deal here or there but those are the only immediate deals I see.

With Bell Czata and maybe Roobroeck gone who is going to score for the Dogs
I don’t think next year is about scoring. I think next year should focus on preventing goals. Developing a system that players buy into that focuses on defensive zone responsibility. Scoring goals is the easy part in junior. The hard part is preventing them.

I know scouts see Edgar as having top 15 potential in the 2027 draft. I wonder if we can find an import forward who can be a scoring winger for him so he has someone to work with.

Still, I cant imagine a world where Edgar finishes the season with us if hes going NCAA for the 27/28 season. Will have to trade him at the deadline

Roobroeck I think we hold on to until at least the NHL entry draft.
depending on what round he gets selected, the might be able to get more value in the return when they do trade him.

Edgar I'd like to hold on to, at least for the start of the season. I know he had a slow start to last season as a rookie, but he really found his groove once Roobroeck went down with his ankle. If he starts the year playing like he finished last season, he could make a case for wearing an "A" at the very least. And if we're completely tanking by December, then he'd be a massive pickup for Guelph or another team looking to make a strong playoff run.

Roobroeck it doesn’t matter when he goes in the draft. He either goes to london or no one at all. No point holding him if london gives us a competent offer

I really hate the new reality of the OHL. It was fun to see teams rebuild over 3-4 years. Now rebuilding is difficult with players leaving as young as 18 for the NCAA.
