Another reason i love watching this tournment is hearing Dave Starman's color commentary.

Hes very good. Does he have an NHL job or does he stick to college/juniors?

Assuming the US can handle the Finns I am not looking forward to a gold medal game versus Sweden because they are f***ing obsessed with singing that song and its annoying as hell. Hopefully whoever they play just lights them up so they don't sing.
Forget the singing, someone up top had a bull horn siren and they were airing it out on the CZE PP to try and distract them. Sounded like a fire alarm going off in the arena

Brindley with a half breakaway and the Finn goalie makes a nice pad save

Whoops, turnover in the slot, original shot saved and sitting on the goal line and poked in.

Fins lead 1-0

Perrault on the ice. -1 but wasnt his fault he was trying to suppprt

How do you watch this remote? Fios App blocks it unless you are on the home network rendering that service useless.

Hate that these games are on NHL Network

Augustine with 3 or 4 good saves. Bad giveaways by the US. Finns playing the long game, opportunistic takeaways and staying in good positions.

US needs to clean shit up

Fins are really trying to take away the middle of the ice/slot in their own zone. USA with a better couple of forechecking shifts but no clean chances other than Brindleys chance at the start of the game

not sure the fins can just play chip the puck out and defend all game though, but it is juniors which tends to get sloppy at any given time

Crap, deflection in front from a low point shot trickles in past Augustine.

2-0 Fins

Bad start. They need to be careful here they dont go down 3-0 and put themselves in a big hole. The next one is big

I see the annoying aspects of junior hockey that make me not reall ylike watching it...just a lot of dumb play and players not knowing how to effectively move the puck againstd any semblance of defense unless they're just given passing lanes

WJC is always a PP goal fest. Lots of offensive skill, not much defense or goaltending (usually)

US forcing plays. Finland clogging lanes and playing a solid system game. Making it hard for the US to get through the neutral zone.

Reset and come out skating in the 2nd. They need something good to happen to get the mojo back

I think the US is just kinda trying to cheat...overskating checks because they're just hoping to knock something free with a quick stick and take off down the ice, not really fighting all the way for the puck.

Yep, Finland playing the right way. US thinking they can get by with the habits that got them here. They were able to get away with it against lesser teams.

Gotta come out and play big boy hockey

come on Smith. Perreault and Leonard great plays to set up a great chance.

US forcing the issue, have the puck more and Finland is backing in a bit. Pressing for that first one and getting close

You get the sense if US can get one here things will open up

Tons of chances for US. Crossbar by Finland after a silly intentional offside touch up by US. That would have been terrible

Kokko making saves and hanging in there

Smith is a mess.
No idea what the hell he was doing...he had a guy sealing him off on the boards, the easy pass to Perreault right in front of him to move the puck and keep cycling, and he blindly threw it back through the middle of the ice to the point and turned it over

Refs are also determined to not call any penalties on Finland and have let 2 blatant high sticks go

lol at moore just skating laps around the offensive zone banging his stick on the ice

Perreault with a BEAUTY of a pass to set up Will Smith for an open netter

2-2

They are going now, big to tie it up before the end of the period. Finland on their heels
