21 goals scored combined against Latvia, Finland (not a great team this year) and Germany.

2 goals scored combined against Sweden and Czechia….

Just awful…this team was lacking scoring and we all new it when we saw the final line up
Ya except for maybe 3 or 4 players the Canadian squad were just not that good including the potential #1 pick in the upcoming draft.

Dumais a West islander who admittedly , I haven’t watched much but heard all these amazing records being broken in the Q , a snub apparently from last year, sucked. So underwhelming for his pedigree in juniors. Hopefully only onwards and upwards for him.

I don’t even know if other countries have gotten better or just the usual countries other than USA have been underwhelming. Canada just sucked.

Dominating performance by Seamus Casey. A Casey that could potentially have more NHL potential than Lane because of his overall game.

I was not surprised with Canada's result and called it before the game.

This team was disjointed and the staff did nothing to try and fix it earlier in the tournament during the nothing games.

The decisions starting with player selection are going to go under the microscope for sure.

Deserved.
They were horrible all tournament.

May this be a lesson to all of them to not slack off or be complacent.

One of the worst teams I've seen in a while.
I don’t know what game you were watching, but after a disastrous first period, they carried the play against a strong opponent. The loss wasn’t about them slacking off. It was about a deficit of talent. Other countries have caught up to us and when you are missing 8 of your top players due to unavailability or injury, the victories that so many here think are easily attainable may not be so forthcoming.

The Americans have caught us. Take a look at the team they have assembled for this tournament. Take a look at each NHL roster and see which players are the most talented.

We lost today, but it had nothing to do with lack of effort.

Blame Fraser Mittens

He sucked but it's on the coaches who put him on the top line and wouldn't take him off come hell or high water. I said before the tournament that a 4th line of Minten-Beck-Cowan (although I wanted Barkey-Beck-Cowan) would be great to have as a checking line, but our idiot coaches wanted every line to be a checking line.

They have t caught us yet. But they’re really close. McDavid, Makar, Bedard, Crosby… Canada’s still the best.

For now.

I'm referencing the tournament as a whole. Canada out themselves in this position by sucking consistently throughout the tournament.

Whenever I see the excuse that certain players didn’t go play for Canada, I always think of the 2006 team that wasn’t very talented but just dominated their opponents physically. The one led by Steve Downie. There’s a way to build a team that will play hard with everyone contributing, crashing the net, consistently winning board battles. This wasn’t one of those teams. Too many perimeter players.
