I don’t think Barco is as sure of thing coming out of Argentina and Alvarez and Enzo; but 10m for him is a pittance. Everyone should have been racing to pay that release clause

Todd Boehly is playing Football Manager in real life except he forgot that the goal is to buy cheap wonderkids not pay world record fees for them.
And for the trifecta

I mean with all the talk about Newcastle struggling with FFP even though they got CL football. Quite impressive that Chelsea are apparently unscathed by FFP.

Again, haaaaaaaaaaaaaate Boca, but he was always a stand out player. Is he Julian or Enzo? No, but he also didn't come from River either. ;) I think he has a high ceiling for growth.

Arsenal going after loans...

- Arsenal looking at a loan move for Benzema. Not training with his oil club and has been sort of a cancer out there.

- Arsenal looking at a loan move for Seko Fofana (ummm, yes please). Hasn't been the same since leaving Ligue 1 though and is older.

- Arsenal looking at a loan move for Onana from Everton (more smoke for the fire).

- Arsenal looking to sell ESR to Aston Villa and use those funds to buy Vermeeren from Royal Antwerp. Arsenal are the frontrunners to sign Arthur, but have FFP problems.

- Ornstein mentions that Spurs really want Gallagher and have money/non-FFP problems to get it done if Chelsea is willing to sell him to them.

- Man United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Newcastle, and Man City are all in FFP problems and don't want to do anything to attract the eyes of UEFA and FA. Because of that, Chelsea is looking to sell players, most notably Gallagher to fund the moves for other players (lol). Ornstein also mentions that Everton will probably be punished again and that Nottingham Forest are also a favourites to be punished when the data comes out (I believe tomorrow). Seems that FFP is calculated over a three-year period and that Forest were going to be okay, but they sold Johnson to Spurs past that three-year cutoff and violated FFP protocol.

This is out of the blue. Anyone know anything about him?

Not really sure that ESR makes sense for Villa atm. Don't think he would be a starter and would cost a lot for what he would bring.

I've also seen many people saying similar with FFP. It seems like it is affecting most teams now and that is why this Jan will be a quiet window. And yes, the financial reports are coming out tomorrow from what I understand.

It's like when China never developed into the retirement league that everyone thought it would. Where you live is still a major factor that people seem to forget about.

Good, this is what I figured would be the best option. Don't spend stupid money on some young striker. Even if these guys are past their prime and don't score at their old rates, we could use some vets and experience.

our long track record of mediocre old man strikers on six month january loans has me concerned, altho Benzema is obviously still at a level far exceeding what higuain + falcao + pato were when they came over.

Different circumstances. Living in China isn't the reason why their plan failed.

It's partially. Culture shock is a major reason IMO, especially when going to a place with less freedom than you are used to. That all applied to China too.
