We clearly have holes to be filled, so I would be thrilled to get something done. On the other hand, if we don't make any acquisitions, at least Savant won't accuse us of being favourites or something?

Don’t think it has anything to do with Levy. Like at all. I think the Everton and Forest thing has everyone spooked, FFP had no teeth but this PSR/Sustainability thing apparently does. Yes Tottenham has some money because of the Kane sale, but (not by you) trying to claim Levy uncovered some silver bullet here is such main character syndrome. Other teams can spend, most teams are choosing not to; which isn’t abnormal for January. Also there’s still two weeks left in the window so just really odd in general

Pletti saying Fulham want Chalobah
Ornstein saying Chelsea want to sell Broja (injury has cooked him)
And some Davies murmurs

In terms of transfers I don't think Spurs can be considered cheap anymore. They have a higher net spend than Liverpool and City over the past five years by quite a margin.

In terms of wages they are being relatively cheap for their stature. However I can't fault them for that. They still have players they want to get rid of, but can't because of their wages. It's nice to know that the players they bring in aren't only motivated by the money.

The Athletic posted an article about Spurs situation today actually:

The article mentions that the club got an eight figure sum for hosting some Queen B concerts. Always rated Beyonce.

You're making them sound broke when their net spend has been consistently high as of late.

I didn’t say they were broke at all. I’m saying Levy’s “prudence” has nothing to do with it.

So it sounds like he had his salary deferred to get around UK tax stuff and let him travel back and forth easily (to see family, play for England, etc.)

I'd assume theoretically the club still "owe" him the money and he could sue them to get it....but lol good luck with that.

This Henderson situation is hilarious.

- Leaves for Saudi Arabia despite massive criticism.
- His contract gets terminated within half a year.
- He deferred his wages for tax purposes, so he hasn't gained a single penny from the move.
That is hilarious, I didn't realize the last point there. Karma is a bitch.

Barcelona
Hamed Traore who only got 181 minutes at Bournemouth this year was loaned out to Napoli. I've seen him a couple of years at Sassuolo. Good attacking player but lazy. I think he's going to be a bench option in Sicily too.
