Remember there was a report last year that the Commanders front office felt Ben Johnson had a terrible interview. So I can believe that tweet.

I call skeptical on all this, but if true, there's several angles. One is, Ben Johnson is dumber than his play calling would indicate and isn't HC material at all. Two is, AP may have turned the plane around, but let it slip that Ben canceled the interview (which still may be true) so that it wouldn't slip out that A) we canceled on him and B) we ARE drafting a QB. Which would be brilliant media manipulation, if in fact true. Let BJ look like the douche for canceling on us, let the world think AP didn't get his guy, who cares. He didn't trash BJ when he could have, he took the high road instead and kept his draft plans under wraps, (even while Doug Williams was announcing the worst kept secret on Earth to the TV crews).

If this has any truth, it probably went down like this:

BJ: I want to run with Sam Howell
AP: We're drafting a QB at 2
BJ: Well then this isn't the team for me
AP: Fine, we'll agree to move on, hey pilot, turn this bitch around.

Media hears that Ben canceled on us, but that's because we weren't handing him the GM keys also.

You said "top guys" but we're talking about Dak, who is just a "better than average" guy.
Kirk Cousins just called. He’d like a word about this topic?

Man I would loooooove that side show.

The real problems would seem to be that he’s probably only going to go now to coach Shadeur (and the Cowboys already have a QB) and are probably too far back at 12 to be able to afford to trade up to be sure and draft him.

I just can’t see how Jerry and him would coexist and have success.
Yeah but yeah? Let them implode together. And trade up to get young S Sanders. Oh….please??!!?!?.

Just pretty pretty pretty please??

I want to see Jerruh continue to compete with the ghost of Dan Snyder for dumbest self-sabotage moves year after year.

Last week when they were having that MVP debate between Lamar and Allen.

I was like there’s one player that took a team from four wins to 12
And now has a playoff win

Tell me a more valuable player this season

I can't think of any team that would be as bad as us without their starting QB, and that's no indictment of Marcus Mariota. Its just that JD put the team on his back game after game and did thinks that almost no one else could do. He's the real Most Valuable Player, even if he doesn't get a single vote.

Kirk has my cell phone but he never calls me anymore.

Cases can be made for Allen, Jackson and Barkley for the Eagles, but personally
I'd go with Jahmyr Gibbs for the Lions.

Montgomery back is not great for us, but it's a lot better than someone like hutchinson being back.

Also I'm taking us at +9.5; we may lose but it won't be by that much

Boy, you obviously haven't seen the Lions play. When Montgomery and Gibbs are both healthy and on their game, the Lions O is virtually unstoppable. They complement each other perfectly: Montgomery is the bruising, punishing back who fights for every yard, while Gibbs is the swift jack-rabbit who runs circles around people. A healthy Montgomery, in tandem with Gibbs, is FAR more valuable to the Lions than a healthy Hutch. Its gives them a dimension other teams in the league simply don't have.

aka Sonic and Knuckles

Yeah, they're a tough 1-2 punch. The old Thunder & Lightning routine.

Not saying we're going to lose for sure but this is definitely making things harder.

I hold little hope of stopping the lions offense. They'll get their 30+ points on us, I have little doubt. But I do have some hope that JD and the offense can maybe keep pace and as we've seen, give us the ball at the end of the 4th qtr with a chance, we are money! I'll take a 41-38 win with JD leading a 14 play, 88 yard drive with 3:47 seconds left for the win, and run away giggling like a schoolgirl.

It's great if he's healthy and 100%. Is he though?

BRob looked explosive earlier in the season. He has been crap ever since his last injuries and looks much slower. It's a tough position to play if you are not 100%. But even if not they have their hands full with Gibbs anyway.

They need to find a way to keep possession so that Lions offense sits out as much as possible. It's going to be tough if our run game is all Daniels, again. But that said Lions with all their defensive injuries are definitely vulnerable there.

Yet the 2 games they lost, featured both backs.

No one is unbeatable my man.

Exactly. The Lions are going to shred our defense regardless of whether Montgomery is healthy or not. As you said, it's going to come down to hopefully bend but not break defense (forcing a few FGs hopefully) and maybe getting a turnover or two. If the defense can do that and the offense does its part, then we have a chance.
