With WR Noah Brown likely out for the season, the Commanders claimed WR K.J. Osborn off waivers from the New England Patriots, per his agents Drew Rosenhaus and Robert Bailey.

Meh.

Good thing we didn’t need a WR, back when we were “winning”. LOL.

Huge eye roll to that. 🤦🏻‍♂️

(Not at you, @John Price)

I mean, looking on the bright side, it appears that he's, you know, ambulatory. So there's that.
It’s a shame. Things haven’t broken “right” for this team to actually make some noise.

Our new CB can’t get healthy
Our WR room is falling alart
Our RB room is decimated
Our OL room is limping along

It’s the NFL though. So I get it.

I’m very worried the playoffs won’t happen. Rams are breathing down their necks. And only GB is up front here.

I could see them missing it, at 9-8. I hope not. 10-7 *should* do it, as they beat the Rams on conf record ATM. So….

They play a Saints team with an interim coach and their third string QB, a Falcons team that has lost four straight and has seen their season go down the toilet and is facing calls to bench Cousins, the Cowboys who are officially done, and the Eagles. If they go 1-3 over that stretch they deserve to miss. Realistically 2-2 is their floor, and if they go 2-2 the Rams would likely have to go 4-0 since the Commies are 5-3 in conference and the Rams are 4-5.

They have a better chance at resting their starters their final weak of the season than they do missing the playoffs at this point but they still need to take care of business, and they should be fresher than most teams down the stretch given the timing of their Bye. Really no excuses here.

Not disagreeing with you. But this is OUR Washington NFL team. What you described is *exactly* what they’ve done for 25yrs! 😂.

So, I am hardly confident.

Win against the Saints (who I didn’t know was missing Carr … that’s a break), and it’s easily within site.

But road games in the NFL are hard. Always. So we will see.

I'd be slightly disappointed if they missed the playoffs but the rebuild is far ahead of schedule. Vegas said 6 wins for this team this year and we hit the over

Did they have no WR’s on the practice squad? That would be irksome, considering the lack of depth at the position for them.
Im not sure who they like now but taking a WR from a bad pats team is not a sign for our trust in our WR depth

We're getting Crowder back, so that's something. Definitely solid returner and can be pretty shifty when he gets chances to play O.

It's just next man up. NB was only marginally better than a couple of the guys he boxed out. We'll be okay. I'll be interested to see if we start leveraging more from our TE spots than just Ertz, maybe get BRob some tosses, too. I think we're okay for now. Fingers crossed.

Yeah he stinks.
7 TDs his rookie and covid season is pretty good. But his numbers have gone down each following season.

We have a 2nd round TE that sure would be nice to step up now.

Yeah, but in an offense this intricate that's designed around our strengths, if he can run a route and has decent hands, we can use him. Noah made some plays, but lotsa drops. Zacheuaiueais has looked okay in fits and starts, but hasn't secured a spot enough for me to learn how to spell his name. Dyami, same thing. Shows up big here and there, invisible a lot of the time. McCaffrey -- you know, the Iron Man of the family by comparison -- has been pretty good, too. Now maybe some Crowder.

We've got guys, we just need 'em to get hot at the right time, like the 10 or so guys that stepped up big for the Caps when they shocked the world.

(Not that I think we're gonna shock the world, but we could maybe startle it a bit, like when you mistake the garden hose for that bigass snake that tried to eat Ice Cube and JLo. Or maybe we'll just get underestimated, like that time your cousin tried to bully a midget but he turned out to be a Psycho Ninja Midget and peppered his scrotum like a speedbag. Or misunderstood like that time your mom was visiting and you Netflixed 50 Shades of Grey because you thought it was 50 First Dates and now your mom can't look you in the eye anymore, which is fine because you're planning to ghost her forever like that chick in college who got pissed because you felt up her roommate, so she filled the curtain rods in your dorm room with raw shrimp, and it stunk so bad for so long that the RA had to call in HAZMAT.)

(In retrospect, you probably should never have told me those stories.)

Would not have a problem taking a Burden or a Warren in the first round to help the receiver core.

Still PTSD from the Washington franchise draft record for a WR in the 1st round...terribad.

I remember so wanting Desmond Howard even though the draft prognosticators questioned his speed, sigh.

McCaffrey as the possession guy, Brown as the vertical threat - until he drops one. Not crazy about Osborn’s underwhelming size

I don't think we'll see the impacts of the WR mess this week. The Saints have one of the worst run defenses in the league, so we should see heavy doses of BRob and CRod with the passing game as more of a complement. Unless the D completely shits the bed against a team with one offensive weapon (41) and that's quarterbacked by Jake from State Farm -- not the cool(ish) one, who hangs with Mahomes, but the original guy, with the khakis.

Depending who’s left, I think offensive line should still be a priority

Just happy Ron isn’t picking for us again lol
