JD5 is going to be the franchise QB we've been wanting for years. Got a good one.
Whitt is saying that after the Andrews TD and late TE catch last game he's removed that coverage check from the game plan because it wasn't being executed well. Two miscommunications across two games and he's adjusting.
Straight up don't remember the last time we had a DC who would do that. JDR almost never changed anything. I think Hackett would have responded by making the check more complex and adding conditions
Those prices are insane for a regular season game.
I suspect Whitt is covering a little for Wagner. I think Wagner had the TE on the long catch by Theo Johnson, and he was just way too slow to keep up with him. Wagner shouldn't be covering fast TE's deep anymore at this point in his career. So while Whitt calls it a "miscommunication", that sounds like a cover for "We'll get a faster guy on the TE from now on". Either way, its good that they are self reflective and adjust as needed... as you mention, the old regimes never contemplated anything.
Yeah, I think the preseason take that Caleb was in the best situation of the kid QBs looks pretty bad in retrospect.Love the Chase Daniel breakdowns. I watched his Caleb video this week, and it was brutal. He’s not seeing the field, is holding the ball too long, and seems allergic to check downs. Makes me appreciate Jayden so much.
At the halfway mark, I’d have to rank the rook QBs:
1) Jayden
…
…
…
2) Bo Nix
3) Maye
4) Caleb
Maye > Caleb might be unfair since he’s played fewer games. But he’s at least moving the ball, making stuff happen. He has no o-line or skill players, so he’s just winging it - but he looks like he can play.
OTOH, Caleb is running around (often backwards), spraying the ball all over the field. That, or he holds the ball too long and gets destroyed. I guess he’ll get a new coach next year that can put him in a better position to succeed.

It's awesome that we've got the best of the bunch. And it's very clear it's not a flash in the pan -- he's proficient in all the areas that a successful QB needs to master to be great. He's got a long way to go, but he's got an incredible foundation to work from.
Going for two instead of trying to tie it? Dummies. Zac Taylor should be gone after this one.lol @ The Bungholes…..let the Ravens off…
Yea, I think Maye, in a sense, is actually in a ok spot cause it’s not like NE cares about winning right now. (As long as he doesn’t get lit up). So, he can basically draw up plays in the dirt - scramble, chuck it around, and throw picks. Kinda like his last year at UNC, lol. At the very least, he looks like he belongs in the NFL. His running style is a little reckless, like Josh Allen. At some point, he’ll have to work within a functional offense, limit mistakes, and fix his footwork. Until then, he’ll be on track to be a “high event” guy like Wentz or Winston.Yeah, I think the preseason take that Caleb was in the best situation of the kid QBs looks pretty bad in retrospect.
I think Eberflus is a goner and their OL is not what it was cracked up to be.
I think Maye is making chicken salad out of some serious chicken shit. But I think his style is more reckless than JD -- maybe a function of thinking he's big enough to run over or through defenders? He's also more careless with the ball.
Nix is just meh to me. Better runner than I expected but not a star.

That really struck me when they played us. It wasn't just that he missed a lot -- he did -- but how bad the misses were. So many of them weren't even close.Yea, I think Maye, in a sense, is actually in a ok spot cause it’s not like NE cares about winning right now. (As long as he doesn’t get lit up). Maybe all the expectations of this Bears roster have made it tougher on Caleb? That D is good enough where he shouldn’t have to do too much. But, everyone just assumed he’d lead them to the playoffs as a rookie. It’s unfair to judge these guys this early. But, he’s failing the eye test, and has one of the worst percentage of off-target throws in the league. Those sidearm throws look cool when he makes the play, but when he has to use it all the time because he’s scrambling or can’t see over the D line - that’s worrying.
Anyways, these guys play each other this weekend. Caleb could have success against a crappy NE defense. Whereas Maye will likely be running for his life, coughing the ball up a few times, lol. Could be a fun game.
Screw other teams, I want one of those VR systems! Imagine VR Madden!Won't surprise me at all if next year all the NFLs failed QBs will want VR...
Commander Hackers will be hard at work infiltrating our division rivals VR headset software. Don't need to tweak Dak's though.
I saw Robinson was out. Sucks that Lattimore isn’t going to play but hopefully it is just caution and learn some shit. But we need him in the lineup if we want to sustain our pace.Commanders' Robinson, Lattimore won't play
New Commanders cornerback Marshon Lattimore and starting running back Brian Robinson Jr. have been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Steelers.www.espn.com
