No to all. JD is a cost-controlled rookie phenom with unknown ceiling. His mental game seems to be Modok level.

My biggest fear used to be him getting injured, but he's been better at protecting himself the last couple weeks.

Now my biggest fear is that he might want to leave at some point. I'm having nightmares about what he said on Sharpe's show when they tried like hell to get him to admit how badly he wanted to be in California or Vegas. So I'm all-in now on how badly we need to build around him, get the stadium deal done, rebrand to something cool, keep/get coaches that he likes, and fix everything remotely needing fixing about this franchise.

I don't want him looking for greener pastures. I want him to be a healthy DC lifer like Darrell. Unless he turns into a douche, in which case I'll want him to be a healthy DC lifer whose momma whoops his ass when necessary.

FYI: I was listening to Rich Eisen while writing this. He says JD's completion percentage over these 4 games is the highest in NFL history. Not for a rookie, and not specifically the first 4 games of a season. The highest of any QB in any 4-game stretch, ever.

Question for everyone on this forum:

You are offered a trade for Jayden Daniels.
Daniel Jones
Jalen Hurts
Dak Prescott

I don't think I'm doing any of those trades.

Lamar Jackson straight up. Do you do it?
No. DJ is ass (except against us.) Hurts is JD if JD didn't know how to read a defense. Dak is old(ish), expensive, and screws the pooch in the playoffs. LJ is a closer thing, but at his best, he's not a better than JD is right now, and JD is improving weekly. He's also older and more expensive, but at least has real accomplishment (though too little playoff success.)

I'll stick with the record-setting rookie on the cheap contract with the unreal skill-set, maniacal dedication and growing confidence.

Daniels has vindicated me on one of the biggest selling points I was arguing in his favor before the draft: he is so ****ing coach able-- he doesn't just accept it, he feeds on it.

He left ASU for LSU to challenge himself and grow his game against stronger competition. There was little question in my mind that he would thrive with the step up to the next level, and he has in spades.

The first 2 games he was hesitant to make risky throws, was too quick to pull it down and take off, and was too reckless in his runs.

In the 2 games since, he has looked infinitely more calm, comfortable in the pocket, and in command of the offense.

I expected JD to step up and meet the challenge. I did not expect him to show this level of growth, improvement and poise in the first freaking month of his career.

Doing some film study on the last Browns game and their offensive line may be as bad as ours and they're dealing with a lot of injuries. Not surprised Washington is a 3 pt favorite.

it's a game they definitely can win but Cooper and jeudy are on Cleveland.

Per ESPN Analytics just now on Get Up, chances to win the NFC east:

Skins 43%
Philly 38%
Dallas 18%
NY 1%

It’s a mad mad world….

Yeah for all the celebration the last few days, WFT are still worst in the league at giving up pass TDs. Going to be the achilles heel all season, but we already knew that.

JD has to put up 40burgers every week to stay ahead.

You had me until the bolded. Lamar’s best isn’t as good as Daniel’s right now? I appreciate the sentiment, but …. Wasn’t Lamar *just* the MVP (again?).

I've been watching this team locally for 45 years. I've learned not to get too excited about anything, over the past 30 or so they always end up disappointing me.

But it's getting a bit harder to 'stay medium', as Coach Zorn would say, these days.

Zorn also called them the "Maroon and Black", so you know, f*** that guy. Forget medium.

Here's a much better quote for the old timers among us.

"I am in a state of ecstasy. Never mind that nonsense about euphoria and so on, it is sheer unadulterated, uncompromising ecstasy."

Bonus like for anyone who guesses the author.

Commies jump 12 spots to 6th in the Athletic power rankings.

I know, who cares about power rankings, but that blowout in the desert solidified JD's early reputation. People are noticing.

Pick up Maxx Crosby as well in a “2-fer”. Voila, big pickups for both sides of the ball. Skins have the cap space.
Only $55.8 mil combined cap hits lol….$30 and $25 respectively…..both contracts have “outs” after this season, then 2 more years each.

Crosby is 28 mil next year, Adams cap hit is around 44 (including previous restructuring)….both would need renegotiation after this year.

🤮

I'm all for helping JD out as much as possible, but we just need a solid #2 guy and for Luke and Ben to develop. (We should start calling them The Jedis if they break out.) We don't need to break the bank for 1b type. More OL and a 2WR, everything else is fine. D is the priority next year for sure though.

Hey, it’s not our money.

Adams would be done after this year, OR it’s reworked.

Crosby’s number is fair. They *should* trade Allen or Payne. Not quite the same amount of money, but it balances out where the money is spent.

Seems DAdams has worn out his welcome with two teams now. Perhaps we should steer clear?

JD's immediate success may make us forget we were supposed to be rebuilding and that our expectations should be tempered. We need to remember it will take patience. As @Jags says, we have some kids that are just starting out, I'd give the Jedi's some time before replacing them with some disgruntled vet prima donna WR.

Why not?

This is Year 1 of 3 with Jayden on his rookie cap hit. His cap hits are $7M, $8.5M, and $10M thru 2026.

It is absolutely incumbent on AP to load up in this 3 year window to make runs each and every year before Jayden's cap hit starts to balloon and we need young guys to replace older vets. The best way for guys like St. Juste, Javontae Jean-Baptiste, Jordan Magee and Luke McCaffrey to develop is to have Charvarius Ward, Haason Reddick/Josh Sweat, Bobby Wagner, and Davante Adams in the locker room for them to watch and learn from.

This is a playoff year my man. The window in Washington is wide open.
