Nice to see a big game from Clase. The position player depth for next year is going to be fantastic. They just really need an impact bat (and most of a bullpen).
There’s that glut of dudes about as ready as they’re gonna be to take their lumps at the ML level. Clase had 99 hr+ab last year, insane. Not sure the glut and ML development jives with the Jays ‘reset’ plan.
All of them have options, so the team could punt the issue down the road.

I wonder if they trade a player or two for bullpen help or make a package for a better hitter.

It will be an interesting offseason. They also need another bat who can hit lefties well.

Figures, in a year where we are not in a race we play the freaking Marlins to end the season. Next year it will probably be the Rays and Yankees again last 2 weeks of the season. This September was a sweetheart schedule if we were trying to close out a playoff spot.

Man, Berrios has had a nice season, but god damn does he give up a homer seemingly every start.

LOL, getting smacked around by a 100 loss team... Sad state of affairs.

These Marlins jerseys are awful. The ones from the 90’s were so much better.

Every uniform with a solid dark shirt and white/light grey pants looks awful IMO. They all look like batting practice uniforms. But yeah these ones are especially bad/boring.

This bullpen performance is a microcosm of the season. Yuck.

That Xavier Edwards kid is a triple away from tying the major league record set in 1867 and matched last in 1885 with 4 in a game. That’s 139 years.
I hope he gets another crack and hope he does it.

Well they've assured themselves at least 10 games under .500, currently 12 games under. So it could be as bad as 14 games if they get swept.

And currently 5th best odds for the draft lottery. Better than winning meaningless Games and ending in 8-12 best place

Those 31,597 fans who showed up last night to watch a meaningless game 160 being played against a 100 loss team have to be the most blindly loyal fans in the league. They might turn out being the reason that the necessary changes in management aren’t going to happen. Shapiro and Atkins should be run out of town for the dismal state of this team. Yet, they may survive because we’re still putting a ridiculous number of fans in the seats. Currently 9th in mlb in avg attendance and the only sub .500 team in that 9. Wouldn’t happen anywhere else.

Shapiro built a social atmosphere around the stadium which has attracted non-baseball fans to attend (especially at gen admission price). In saying that, the average attendance dropped by 4k per game. I’m sure they don’t want to see 300k+ lost fans over the course of a season.

Yeah must suck to have a team that made the playoffs 3 of the past 4 seasons in the best division in baseball. Although this year didn’t work out, I’m not sure it’s the been the disaster you think it is. Take a deep breath.
