Anyone else concerned with Voronkov’s transformation at age 24? I remember an interview with David Wells (a very good baseball pitcher who was notorious for not having the physique of a professional athlete) and he talked about how he knew his body and if it were to change then his mechanics would have to change and then it might subject his body to more injuries or it might impact his pitching. This is what I was reminded of when @VT started posting the workouts. If he were an 18 or 19 year old I wouldn’t think such a thing, but 24 is different.
Didn't the dude gain a stupid amount of weight over his career? He's a pitcher so it's not really apples to apples and I don't really think it's that true anyway. It's would impact some things to some degree for sure but it also sounds like a fun excuse.

But regardless, as Major pointed out his current level is more his norm and last year was the outlier

And he got better as well.

Voronkov played 75 NHL games and 4 AHL games last year. He didn’t have great stamina, but he stayed healthy and put some pucks in the net. I am interested in how the new Voronkov holds up.

I think we already saw that new Voronkov last year, I think he was only plus sized for the first couple months of the season last year. He might have had some great training this past summer, that would be nice.

Edit: Yes I saw all the same training videos posted here. I just mean we don't know yet whether he'll be any quicker or have more endurance on the ice.

Alright cool, tomorrow I wanna see Chinakhov, Marchenko, Voronkov, Jiricek, KJ and Svozil in front of media answering questions.

"Which aspects of your game should be improved after a summer of training?"
"How much do you REALLY weigh currently?"
"What is your excuse for not posting enough IG pics and vids from the gym?"
"Which is more important to you: to be tough to play against or to be flashy and soft offensive specialist?"
"How will you react if you're getting sent down?"

I recognize that it's been a near consensus that Fantilli and Sillinger should be at center. But it's really hard to square that with the results to date. There is a massive gap between Jenner and Voronkov on the one hand and Fantilli and Sillinger on the other, when it comes to xG and goals results. Draft pedigree is a bitch.

other than for the obvious reason that he’s on the Jackets and I’d like to see all of our guys do well, it would be very nice if Sillinger broke out and put an end to the shit talking. I don’t know if he can do it, but I really hope so. Reminds me of when this board gave up on Matt Calvert and David Savard at early parts of their career, however I will admit both of them had far fewer games under their belt and were more unproven.

Honest question. What changes your mind about Sillinger moving forward? What do you need to see? I want to look for this because, as we both know, you and I have very different positions on him. I'm not looking to debate with you, just want to know what success looks like to you when it comes to Sillinger.
