Will nhl network cut to USA if Canada game is still going? They didn’t cut from Slovakia to Canada.

Even this Norway game is going to feel fun after this Finland-Canada game. Big opener and zero fire.

The narrative coming in was that we had an absurdly easy pool. but, after this morning, I’d take Slovaks and Czechs over Finland

Snuggerud, Moore, and Chesley have all been having very inconsistent and frankly disappointing seasons so far. Hence the Gophers' poor start.

I would not be surprised to see Moore not make it or be a 13th forward. He isn't really impacting games.
Moore 13th forward as predicted

I expect a completely different Team USA in a second period when they know that they need to compete. Typical start against a ''weak'' opponent. Some reason David Carle doesn't give confident vibes to me and that kind of start is one more reason why. Team should have been much more ready.

This is setting us up perfectly for a meltdown about how this is all happening because Carle didn’t take 17 year old James Hagens over Gavin Hayes

Augustine has been only good one out there. It is the most USA Hockey thing ever that they win both Sweden and Canada and then look absolutely s**t against Norway.

I have to say that one thing I hate about USA Hockey is the fact how soft we are these days. In the past it was only Canada and Russia who was able to match our physicality. Now it is rare that we have upper hand and it has become more usual that we struggle when we are roughed up.

Definely agree on Trey. Player of the game for sure

its too early to label the team as too soft but I understand your concern. In the Canada game we got bullied for periods of time. Reminds me how happy I was watching Jordan Greenway dominate Canada in the Summer Series his year.

I wouldnt label them soft yet either, and bringing too many more physical, grinder types has hurt USA hockey in the past... but I've never seen a team USA get out-physicaled by a team of Norways calibre like this before

It's a fun fact that David Carle's big brother was part of that historic 2004 WJC team and now he is coaching 04s 20 years later.

Absolutely putrid effort today. Hopefully a wakeup call that you can't take days off and believe your own hype.

While your goalie should never be that busy against Norway, at least it felt like a real game for Augustine and he played well in a game that often is more like a trip to the beach and not helpful for a goalie getting into the tournament.

Brindley and Casey were also very good today. Two of the few guys showing any consistent effort and results.

Hutson was a horrific nightmare. Must be reading the posts about himself on here from Montreal fans. Selfish, stupid hockey from him. Coaches should have stapled him to the bench for awhile to send a message.

I'm not a big McGroarty fan and I don't like him on that first line but the rust from his injury was evident today, so we'll see how he looks in a couple of games.

Coaches need to find more ice time for Moore going forward. His pace and dogged play are constants that will too often positively impact the game (see Brindley) to have him as the spare.

I've seen too much of this tournament, both for USAH and other top teams, to overreact to a really poor effort while playing down to the opposition. The list of dominant and/or gold medal teams in the past that have had performances like this is endless. Hopefully the team turns it into fuel and shows up next game.

Also, you know the WJC is back when you're shaking your head throughout the game at what comes out of Starman's mouth.

anyone who follows Boston colleage would know that Hutson basically has the green light from the coches to do whatever he wants on the ice and that to me is not how you develop a player

He's a weapon that you want to take full advantage of but I'm not sure there's a capable enough of a safety cog on this team to allow him the kind of freedom he appears to have.

This is not your father's USA Hockey. They have definitely gone the speed/skill game and that works...until you get pinned down.

Starman or McGuire. Sophie's Choice.
