Allard must be a great skater and defensive forward I’m assuming? Can someone give a breakdown if they don’t mind.
Twice undrafted January '04 birthday. He has a high motor but is rather unspectacular. You'll be ok with his presence if other players are scoring because he forechecks and doesn't do anything stupid but if they are ever in a spot where you're hurting for offense, it would be annoying that he's there.

This is the team thus far

Rehkopf - Celebrini - Dumais
Cowan - Yager - Wood
Beck - Geekie - Minten
Savoie - Allard - Danielson

Lamoureux - Luneau
Warren - Mateychuk
Furlong - Molendyk
Bonk

St-Hilaire
Rousseau
Ratzlaff

Goaltender Samuel St Hilaire makes the team that’s pretty crazy, he was meant to be the backup for Sherbrooke last season as they acquired an overage goaltender. And now he’s got 52 career QMJHL games in 2 seasons under his belt and is now representing Canada, pretty nuts. Congratulations to him. Literally 2 seasons of experience and wasn’t invited to the summer camp. Things change in a heartbeat, he’s one of the hottest tendies in the country right now.

So looks like they tried to bring lots of “gritty” two way forwards. Why? It’s bigger ice and your team should be better than everyone else, why have 2 lines simply try not to get scored on?

I'm really happy for the kid. He has been nothing short of incredible for Sherbrooke this season.

Well deserved.

If you think they’re taking 2 lines simply trying not to get scored on, that’s on you

Reactions: PROUD PAPA
Allard probably plays the wing on the fourth line with Owen Beck, Canada is making some really strategic choices this year.

I’m assuming they like what they saw from Matthew Wood and that’s why Jagger Firkus didn’t make the cut.

Reactions: Dominance
Firkus had a really bad showing by all accounts. Not an indictment on the kid’s talent. I think Dumais is pretty much a better version of him - there still seems to be way too many doubters of Dumais, who could very well lead the team in scoring and looked fantastic for CBJ in the preseason. Allard and Ludwinski were interchangeable in my mind. This is the weakest Team Canada in ages IMO…ON PAPER. We’ve seen teams that appeared much better than this one just never come together - no one should rush to any conclusions until at least NYE. Gonna have to roll the lines and outwork everyone.

Vidicek probably ends up 13F when neither Benson nor Poitras are released due to versatility as a quality two-way guy.

Molendyk-Bonk
Furlong-Lamoureaux
