Sid was more solid, I would agree, but look at clips of him from 2005-'06, it is easy to forget just how much of a babyface he had. He was slimmer than he is now too. Maybe still a bit more solid than Bedard is at the same age, but he was getting lots of liberties taken against him. Derian Hatcher hit his mouth pretty hard once. I can remember the idea at that time that Sid was going to get worn down. Well, here he is in 2023, still an elite player. And in his rookie year, he played 81 games. I think Bedard is just as smart as Sid on the ice so he'll know when to pick his spots.
So if there was a World Cup in 2024, and I know there isn't last I checked, does Bedard make the team?
