It is completely ridiculous that one team could have $10M+ more worth of talent on the ice just due to the timing of injuries.

I 100% agree. And I think there's a strategy to how injuries are handled organizationally. It's never a guy with an expiring contract that goes out on LTIR. It's someone with term and security. No player is going to agree to go on LTIR if they're fighting for a new deal. And every player has nagging injuries. I think it's about how those teams handle those kinds of injuries. I'm sure every player would prefer to rest and fully recuperate from all their nagging injuries, or maybe get a surgery they could have waited for the offseason to have. Then the org kind of swoops in and couches the discussion such that they have their asses covered but still get the desired LTIR outcome.

I think the only way that happens is if Guentzel is signed as part of the deal. Drury isnt gonna mortgage the future for a rental

I dont know about that. They arent a detriment and the way they can hit can wear out another team.

I am perfectly fine if one or both were on the 4th come playoff time. Maybe not every game, but more often than not.

In the playoffs u need heavy players. Yes they are raw, but they arent making glaring mistakes.

Well i mean hes raw as they get. Edstrom to a degree as well.

We are talking about a combined 19 games of experience here. Even if it was Lafreniere it would be a stretch to fire them up in the playoffs unless out of necessity.

I keep seeing Goodrow left out of lineups as a scratch and thats hilarious to me. He is 10000% going to be in the lineup, every night unless hes injured and cant go
