If Guentzel was 26, Id trade Kakko and Othmann for him without hesitation. 30 with a lot of mileage is risky, but he would certainly be the closest thing there is to a difference maker. I doubt the Rangers offer the most when it comes down to it.

I might be able to be convinced to signing Guentzel but there would need to be a slew of moves that followed that this off-season, not limited to:
Trouba traded
Goodrow traded or bought out
Lindgren traded

Also, Guentzel would need to be agreeable to a 6 year deal. Not 7 or 8 at age 30.

This is truly crazy. Does anyone remember a time when a pretty good player was traded twice like this in such a short amount of time? I can't imagine the Canucks are gonna get what they paid for him.
Maybe 75 cents on the dollar if they are lucky.

Didn't Anson Carter get traded twice in one season (I think we got Jagr out of one of those trades).

Brian Noonan too (also involved the Rangers).

I find it very odd that CBJ healthy scratched Marchenko last night to play 11F/7D. Speaking of stupid teams. 23 years old, having a career year poits wise and an upcoming RFA. Is there something im missing or should Drury be all over this guy?

I forget which player it wss (marchenko or chinakov) but wasn’t there rumors earlier in the year that one of them wanted out of cbj? Maybe that changed with the gm firing but either one drury should be checking in on.

nope I personally could care less. Probably no one I could hate more than Henrique and if helps us for a good price we should all be fine with it.
Problem is we are gonna get taxed twice with Guentzel. Once when we have to give up a haul for him (I would imagine he is by far the most expensive rental on the market) and then again when we have to give him 8.5-9 million a year to a guy who is almost 30.

I was thinking that but first I don't trust the organization to trade Trouba. They seem to love him.
Also Guentzel would have 8 years of downhill where Trouba only has 2 more after this. We can't afford to make another mistake like that.

Panarin is the age Messier was when he won the cup here and the entire team core minus Fox is in their 30s.

So yeah, we only have a couple more seasons of this before you have to re-imagine the roster.

He is a good player but there are real concerns about his age and next contract and he is going to cost alot. Also, nobody knows how he will perform without Crosby. I would stay away.
