Pretty happy with the deadline. Roslovic is a similar move to Vatrano a few years back. Good, fast player who came at a very cheap cost.

Vatrano isn't really that good, but sure would have been a bigger splash that cost a shitload more.

Would have loved Buch but 2 firsts is ridiculous.

My main issue is the defense.

The Right wing on the top line is a black hole of offense.

Yeah, and? Nothing we did this deadline was going to change that.

Clear our Mika, Trouba, Goodrow and maybe Lindgren.

Go 1C and first pair D shopping in the offseason.

who knows but I'd bet the keep Kakko with zibanejad for at least another game but overall that's a solid if not spectacular lineup that really hinges on whether Zibanejad can get going one way or another. Even if his metrics are ass if he just starts popping goals in then that's a huge boost.

It's been stated countless times - but our playoff hopes largely depend on Mika turning it on. If he doesn't, any move we made would have likely been viewed as a failure after the playoffs.

Adding Wennberg, Roslovic, and Ruhwedel for basically nothing, to the team with the 5th most points in the NHL, is not nothing. But if we did do nothing, then so did Toronto, Edmonton, Dallas, Boston.

Did we lose any invaluable assets? No. That's good.

Did we make ourselves better versus the competition? No. We went from a favorite to a middle-of-the-road playoff team. That's bad.

Did we address our holes? Not really. Depth D and 3C were addressed. 1RW was filled with a 3RW, which still provides a massive hole.

We could have thrown a significant package at someone for an off the radar guy that might make an impact. Otthman, Jones, Kakko, 1st. I wouldn’t have supported it for obvious reasons. But outside of that there was nothing except Buch that made sense. We won’t win a cup but I think Drury knows that and is fine waiting and winning back to back in a few years. But our core kind of sucks. So idk. Rangerland. Mediocrity is our specialty. If Igor goes 1.20 GAA .965 SV% we might do it.

Vegas does this every year. But again, you have said these big moves don't workout so therefore you should be happy with the rangers deadline?

They clearly find ways to do it. It's not about not having enough. It is about whether the GM has the cajones to do it.
