Ottawa fan calling other orgs trash. lolUnfortunate that that trash org gets a player like McDavid who almost single handedly is giving his team a chance to comeback.
We are also a trash org. Both are true at the same time.Ottawa fan calling other orgs trash. lol

We had a trash owner, likely one of the worst of all time.Ottawa fan calling other orgs trash. lol
The 6-foot-3, 204-pound left-shot defenceman told TSN that if Ottawa drafts him, he likes the idea of being close to Toronto, his hometown. He says he was also impressed with the Sens organization as a whole.
"A great organization, Canadian market, and unbelievable fans. And after meeting the general manager and the front office at the scouting combine, it's obviously a very well run organization. And it would be an absolute honour to go there."
When asked about his game, Dickinson, who just turned 18, had an extremely confident answer.
Just a people who live in glass houses comment. I am sure there are multitudes who would not call the Oilers trash. ...and I never called the Sens trashWe had a trash owner, likely one of the worst of all time.
Not everyone thinks we suck though
They won those 3 #1's in a row + Eberle @ 14, but is it their fault that none of them were legit team leading stars? So much is made of their failure, and they did a poor job of surrounding them, but Yakupov was going to be a bust anywhere, RNH is amazing, but more of a supporting star player type, Hall was flashy but never really part of a winning team anywhere else either. If anything, it sort of seemed more like shit luck on their part to get 3 #1's, and not land 1 guy that really leads a team anywhere. We're both trash, but the Oil had the luck to have Gretzky, and even after 3 first overall picks in a row, they were trash, and then lucked out to have McDavid. One of the luckiest organizations in the world, and they end up spending $18 million on Nurse, Ceci, and Campbell. Like we might be trash, but the Oil are at an impressive tier of trash. They're literally being dragged to where they are on the back on a generational talent.
They did such a poor job surrounding them. They didn't even have to draft Yakupov, but they just had to have another shiny new toy that'd be a 40g guy. They won those 3 #1's in a row + Eberle @ 14, but is it their fault that none of them were legit team leading stars? They did, but I still don't see a great path forward for them there that would have led anywhere consequential unless McDavid (and arguably Drai) still comes along. The # 1's you draft are supposed to be the needle movers and they didn't really get that imo. I guess they could have moved the Yakupov pick, but there wasn't anything special behind him I don't think? Murray turned out to be a bust too. They did such a poor job surrounding them. All that luck, and then they still get McDavid.
Unfortunately my friend, I'll have to remain saltier than the Dead Sea until McJesus demands a trade or leaves in UFA lol

All good either way, just my opinion that they had a raw deal there with what came from those picks and too much is made of that.
I felt similar to you about Crosby and the Penguins. Seemed like they were just too fortunate.

Thanks for posting that. Not a lot there as far as needle moving stars go, but lots of quality NHLers in there. Filip Forsberg obviously way too low to have been considered over Yakupov, but him, Trouba and Reilly are probably the best of the 2nd bunch there.Look at the top 15 in that 2010 Draft

2012 is a little better but still hit and miss; Many if not most of the scouting services had Yakupov at 1 including the Bob Father
Scouting services don't agree on a whole lot, but they ALL rank Nail Yakupov #1
