The Oilers may actually score a 5 on 5 goal in that case

The Panthers are shit heads. They never needed an excuse for it.

Bennett literally punched Marchand out of that series.
Wouldn't be surprised if he did that to one of McDrai or RNH, and he won't hesitate either. The cats have gotten away with dirty shit without significant punishment and know it.

They are looking for advanced stats (HDSC, etc) to support a narrative and go into things that are anything but scoreboard.

5v5 GA/60 in the playoffs

Nurse/Ceci pairing 4.3. Ceci without Nurse 1.1
Nurse/Dehairnais pairing 5.1. Dehairnais without Nurse 2.3
Nurse/Kulak Pairing 3.5. Kulak without Nurse 1.7

People can have all the fancy stats they want, and I see uses, but ultimately scoreboard is what wins games.

Granted whomever plays with Nurse generally plays tougher minutes, but not significantly tougher. Not to the point that playing with Nurse on average has tripled the GA/60 vs other D partners.

I was more wondering how players looked with/then away from Ceci but you aren’t my secretary! lol

Probably not long until Brady follows suit.
Maybe, maybe not, he is signed for 4 more seasons under contract. Maybe it should be a consideration on who we draft & where they are from & whether they will stay or go the second the opportunity presents itself. Of course, why would that player reveal that information & more likely keep it secret. The same could be said for Stutzle, Sanderson, Norris, Pinto, Kleven or any other player who would prefer to play in a warmer climate, less tax or a better team. Even Canadian players might prefer a different destination like Montreal, Toronto or Vancouver.

How do we get around that? How do we make Ottawa more of an attractive destination other than having a Stanley Cup caliber team & even then for some it still might not be good enough? Even some players raised in this area might not want to stay here & prefer a more fun destination. away from family They key is to build a good team with good players who like it here & use the young players you draft while you have them under contract & trade them for what you need or picks before they decide to leave while they have some value. It's a tough market & the tax situation doesn't help & if they don't have a winner it further hurts their viability.

Florida is just too much for Edmonton... they can't hang with them. When they muster some offense Bob says no.. The have too many costly breakdowns.
Florida will keep their feet on their throats.

Dubois is going to start interfering in games to force a game 7.

One of the more interesting storylines of the offseason is that he turns 26 the day of game 7. Apparently, he can only be bought out once the season ends. If the season ends before he turns 26, he could be bought out at the 1/3rd rate. If it ends after he turns 26, he only qualifies for the regular 2/3rd rate, which because he has some signing bonuses, makes a buyout extremely unlikely.

Florida is sneaky good. Oilers may have the puck a lot, but they're not getting many good chances. And that goes for the whole series so far. But it's a hard style to play long term.
