Like the others, we won't get nothing

Dear god, nobody is giving you a top prospect for Nate Pearson or half a season of Yimi Garcia who just came back from the IL with an elbow injury.

Top prospects are only traded for star players.
Why trade him then? Just two years ago you were in here bowing down to him like he was the next Clemens.

Because he hasn't improved in years. No reason to keep trotting him out and pretend that he's suddenly going to improve with the same coaches that have been trying to help him for the past 7 years.

Garcia trade is a solid return.

Pearson trade is disappointing more for the way Pearson turned out than anything else. The actual return seems like decent value for what he is.

Hopefully they make out well on the Jays deal because I hate trading players I like to Boston.

Of note regarding the Pearson trade….he wasn’t expiring, had team control.

Maybe it’s just a roll of the dice, or maybe it signals that more guys are on the table than originally expected.

A bit odd to sell a controllable arm - especially a power one - since the cupboards aren’t exactly full.

Wonder who’s next.

The tank might be real.

Edit to add: Pinango is a major league name at least. Plus, why is Rivera in AA?

Just drafted last year.
i think it may have been as much about giving Pearson a fresh start somewhere else. We clearly weren't going to be the team to get the best out of him and he wants to try and be a starter again according to him. He may have even asked to be moved for all we know but did it quietly.

Pearson 2 years ago you guys were saying was blue chip prospect.
Hitting us with the 'you guys believed x like idiots' when he was rated a top 50 prospect in baseball by Fangraphs/BA/etc in 2021.

He's a prospect that busted, it happens (a lot in baseball). Sitting here in 2024 with this smug attitude using hindsight to demean other fans is not a great look.

I checked and he was ranked 10th best prospect in the MLB at the start of 2021. His value dropped a lot in that season and continued into 2022.

Interestingly, Austin Martin was ranked 22nd best prospect at the start of 2021.

So ... nothing
Atkins special. AA fillers.

He didn’t bust. The Jays coaching staff busted. The guy still throws 100 mph. With a better secondary pitch he could be a decent closer.

Are you actually trying to do some kind of gotcha thing to guys understanding a high ceiling prospect we had has busted? But you want to keep him and keep trotting him out there to not be good at all lol. He may find his way with Chicago but it wasn't happening here.

Yeah, totally. Pete Walker is known for being a poor pitching coach. Nate Pearson didn't have a ton of injuries and has an extremely hittable fastball or anything.

You always saying he had best stuff in Jays System. Quite a fall from grace.

We are going through the same thing now with Tidemann. It happens in baseball and one of the things you legitimately can't blame on anyone.

The fact that nearly every blue jays pitching prospect winds up on the injured list says there’s some wrong with how the organization handles young arms. They are over-throwing and not being handled properly.

Literally everyone who knows anything about baseball said that.

That's not a Jays thing, it's a baseball thing.
