A good read.

Regarding the UCL injuries

. And then last year, by and large, we were very lucky with our health. But I don't think it changes our process. At the end of every year, we sit back and reflect with all of our leaders and staff members and teams to go through all of our processes. And obviously this one has a bit more tension just because of the results this year and the things that went down…. it's a tough question to answer. It's definitely something that we are thinking about non-stop, and we're going to continue to do that and spend a lot of time on it this offseason because you know you don't want anybody to get hurt period but just the amount that we had was difficult.
We're going to look into our rehab process to make sure we help these guys get ramped back up safely enough, and get them back to their former levels and hopefully even better at that point. There are a lot of open-ended pieces at that point, but we will be spending a ton of time on it in the offseason.

Interesting Maroudis is throwing light toss

All of them have had their procedures done. I think Landen's already started throwing on flat ground, very light. I think Ricky is not too far away.

On Fernando Perez

That was just a shutdown. He had already increased his innings load by 60% year over year. Obviously, it was a super positive year for him. It was awesome he was recognized for the Futures Game. But some of that kind of interrupted his routines. And, you know, quite frankly, he looked a little skewed towards the end.
He was disappointed, obviously, but we wanted to highlight for him just how positive this year has been and the things that he has learned and just give him an opportunity to get a jump start on that offseason so he can come back and really build off of a tremendous season going into next year.

And finally

Lázaro Estrada is another really positive story. Ryan Jennings had a really nice year. Nobody really talks about Geison Urbaez, he flashed flash stuff that I haven't seen from him - in his last appearance he was up to 99; he's really interesting and not a lot of people talk about him so pretty interesting. Kai Peterson was up and down but has shown some interesting things, Colby Holcombe of the new draft class didn't get a ton of opportunities at Mississippi State, but some of the adjustments he's been open to and he's had a nice debut. Fernando, obviously, took a massive step forward. Perry, Maroudis, before they got hurt, they were in that same boat.

Speaking of all the pitching prospect injuries, what happened to TJ Brock?

He was projecting to be a leverage pen arm with some SO stuff.

So what's the deal going forward with Vlad Jr?

He's been mostly great since...Juneish but that was after two Mehish seasons, think the Jays have to give him a big deal just to save face?

It would be a huge stain on the franchise if they didn't sign one of Bo or Vladdy.

Vladdy has been the more healthy player, despite his size, this year has a very good season. Makes more sense to sign Vladdy, as he has a better offensive potential. Even in Vladdy's two "mehish" seasons, he still hit more homers and RBI's than Bo.

Bo will either be traded in the off season, or he will sign a short contract with opt-outs, so if he does return to form, he can go to free agency.

Some things to watch in the last 6 games.

Vlad is 3 runs scored from 100, 6 hits from 200, 3 doubles from 45, and .007 behind Witt for the batting title.

There’s rhe missing man!

That’s actually a very cool Arizona contingent. Brock needs some innings, and has plus stuff. Lestrada has slow cooked but had a good overall year as a starter and might be added to the 40 man. Jennings had a strong year, as a successful starter in A+ and hard to hit reliever in AA. Lavalee has big K numbers across two levels, but really needs to tighten up his command. Rojas was excellent at Vancouver but hurt a good part of the year, needs innings too. Would have hit AA if he was healthy.
On the hitting side, Paulino is the jewel of the Jansen trade imo, util LHH with good career numbers also coming off injury and rule5 eligible. Pinto has dynamic offensive player written all over him, but tons on injury trouble too and also rule5 eligible. Williams had a nice year at Vancouver too, bit older for the level.
Good group to follow. I’d say all 5 of the arms have a legit chance to make the Jays. Three have enough stuff to maybe be leverage guys, Rojas could start, with Estrada more projecting as a control-type starter.

Lazaro’s a very interesting arm. He’s missed a ton of time due to injuries but he’s like a mini Bowden in terms of stuff. Someone needs to get him in the lab and work on a splitter.
