Jeff Passan ( ESPN ) previews the upcoming trade deadline:

Boston Red Sox: Adding and subtracting. The ugliness of the sweep at the hands of the Dodgers over the weekend and a 12-inning loss to Colorado on Monday injected some levity into a Red Sox team that entered the All-Star break flying high. There are dueling thoughts within the organization that run into direct conflict with one another. On one hand, the Red Sox have overachieved, so pushing some chips into the middle would reward a group that warrants such. On the other, they'll soon transition to a younger core, with Marcelo Mayer, Roman Anthony, Kyle Teel and Kristian Campbell all almost big league-ready, and in the AL East, it pays to have one eye as much on the future as the other is on the present. The Red Sox will be busy. They just might be the sort to nibble on the margins both ways.

Yes. Understand, I think the umpire missed the call as well but that framing job was ridiculously bad. Whether we like it or not, oftentimes, a poor framing job creates more of an opportunity for the umpire to second guess the call. As I said, if the catcher just "stuck it" then there would be a better chance to get the strike call, instead it is so poorly done it looks as though he's trying to "get a strike". Bad call? Yes. Poor catcher work? Yes. There can be both.

Also, I am one of those people that don't think one pitch dictates the W or the L, there's nine innings of second guessing that could go on.
Good post

One pitch can change a game though be it a strike or ball or David Ortiz GS against Detroit in 2013 or Gomes vs Cardinals in WS

He gets the r game is certainly different no matter what happens afterwards
