Ok, now I HAVE to stop to do this.
I hope you do, if for no other reason than it would be hilarious to me. There are several of those gorillas on the grounds, and they get repainted every now and again. "The" exact gorilla is in front of a small gift shop next door to the "myrtle beach gift shop". He's not the huge gorilla that's by the road, he's directly in front of the gift shop glass

you WILL get funny looks. It's worth it lol

Don't tell me we're going to need a dedicated South of the Border gorilla thread now

Give me the best "amateur" athletes competing in the olympics any day over a bunch of spoiled millionaire pro's that scream for attention.

being 63 I just can't get into it, its not the same and frankly its just another sporting money maker event now.

Snoop getting paid 8m to be a clown says it all.
I could care less about pro or amateur

good news for those that don’t their are other things to do and watch - August is great for going on Early evening walking trails

We got some great ones around here I’d probably check out if wasn’t loving these Olympics

I was waiting for this. I came prepared.

Pats never secretly recorded another team's practice. That was a lie. Boston Herald had to apologize and everything on the front page. Patriots were guilty of recording....from the sideline when they could have recorded from almost anywhere else in the stadum.

Meanwhile Canada's coach literally emailed HR about drone "spying" when someone said they didn't want to do it anymore.

Apples to orangutangs comparison. Weak sauce. Need something better for this to be fun.
OK, Pats never cheated....never got caught. I love Brady and Belichick!!!

But I am not a fan of Lance and have some doubt on Carl...just saying!

We can all see and hear what WE want to see and hear. Have a nice one bud!

I'm sorry Canada's systematic cheating, which they literally called "spying" in internal emails, that went on for a decade got caught and then the women immediately didn't medal.

I don't mind the lack of advertising. Nice to have one space left in sport that is largely free of overt commercialism, even though there is plenty in the background. I could live with some more ads if I thought a good chunk of the money would go to the athletes, but we all know that'd be unlikely.

But geez refusing to sell beer - even in France that's a crime!

I will say, much as we Aussies also love a beer at the footy, what Paris is doing is not completely unusual in Europe. Drinking alcohol in the stands is banned at the soccer in England, has been for a long time. You can drink at the bar on the concourse pre-game or at half-time, but not in your seat. Too many drunken fights and nonsense back in the old days.

On another Olympic note, one of my favorite things at the track and field are the little remote-controlled cars they use to transport the javelins and discus back to the starting point after they've been thrown. I want that job!

I am glad there is no alcohol at the Olympics, it would've ruined the positive nature of the games, by bringing in drunken idiots to ruin the fun for everyone.
They've been sneaking the alcohol in.

Especially during the outdoor volleyball games.

It's all over tiktok

US Men's Volleyball beats Itally in straight sets to take the bronze.

To each their own, but I don't think I've ever cringed more watching a sporting event than I do watching the break dancing competition.

That relay was almost a disaster.

Luckily we pulled it off. Richardson is literally so fast. Wow
