Rosario makes some sense. Not really an all-star, but he can give you average to above-average production from a position where the Sox were -1.9 wins above average last year.

I'd describe him as competent.

He's not outstanding offensively or defensively, but good enough. It's not like he's gonna be Jose Peraza or Marwin Gonzalez out there posting a 60 OPS+.

This team hasn't had a reliable second baseman since Pedroia got his knee spiked by Machado six years ago. I'd really like someone like India who can be a regular cornerstone there for years years come.

Wander no showed his mandatory police summons in the DR

This is going to be really bad. Not just he's never going to play again, but the guy may not see daylight again at this point. The complete disappearance is worrying too.

That kid had it all. Prodigious talent, locked into a huge contract (even if he left money on the table by signing a team friendly deal). Probably would've been a perennial all star shortstop. He has two young kids and a wife. He's still only 22 years old. And he goes and throws his damn life away because he wanted to mess around with teenage girls. The whole situation is infuriating.

Pedo's have no remorse. I'm sure his wife was young was he was messing around with her.

Disgusting.

In this case I'm sure it's more of a control thing than a sexual thing for him, he's oriented toward that behavior. It's not like he's a lonely loser who can't get a woman his own age and is desperate enough to not say no when an opportunity comes up. This guy is rich, young, famous, talented, lives in Florida most of the year while I presume his family is in the DR. He could probably find hundreds of attractive college girls or adult women to have a fling with. Intentionally seeking out younger girls is just demonic.

Yariel has the stuff for the MLB level. His fastball averages 95-96 mph and capable of reaching triple digits, he has a forkball that averages 89-90 mph, and has a slider that averages 82-83 mph and clocked in at 3000 rpms. The question with Rodriguez has been related to if he has ability to have his stuff go nine innings. When he was pitching in Nagoya with the Chunichi Dragons, he struggled as a starter and was transitioned to the bullpen where he became a lethal closer. In his last full season in Japan before defecting, Rodriguez went 6-2, posting a 1.15 ERA, averaging 9.9 Ks per 9, 3 BBs per 9, with a Strikeout to Walk ratio of 3.33, as well as having a WHIP of .915. His most effective pitch was his Slider as hitters had a batting avg of .082 against it, which according to Delta Graphs was worth 13.3 runs above average compared to similar pitchers in NPB throwing the slider. The big issue with Rodriguez is the year layoff. He looked pretty good in the games he's been playing in the DR, but not many are sure if the year off imposed effectively by the Baseball Federation of Cuba through their threat against the Dragons from posting Rodriguez caused Yariel to lose his form. Only time will tell, but I think the Red Sox should gamble and sign the Cuban right hander.

The comps Yariel is drawing are to pitchers like Roberto Suarez, Siranthony Dominguez, and Christian Javier.

I legit don't understand what the f*** they're doing.
Apparently next Tuesday Jan 2 all hell’s going to break loose if you listen to guys on MLB Network

This was team panic week - Next week they were saying players want to know where they will be and agents will be ready to move

Many of teams with lots of cap space don’t look like they are spending

Orioles have so much money absurd they aren’t spending

Who’s a player in NL as of today

NL looks like
Two super powers
Braves & Dodgers

A very good and expensive team
Phillies

A solid young dangerous team
Arizona

Cubs need Bellinger back

Cardinals & Giants will spend on a few guys - Giants will go big

Mets anything possible

SD needs to continue to reduce payroll (how much do they hate Bogearts deal) and Sox should jump at Kim for prospects

Colorado won’t be spending
Milwaukee’s resetting
Pittsburgh is Pittsburgh

Cincinnati very skilled young players could be after a decent FA but skeptical

Washington still in rebuild/reset

Marlins operate frugally still

Sox need to target SD and Miami and only Mets left should be able to bully them
