What's the general concensus on Bobby Dalbec? Does he have any future if he's coached up and comes back with a new hitting approach or puts on some muscle, or did he reach his professional ceiling in 2021 and is he just a AAA guy who will come up for cups of coffee once in a while and inevitably get DFA'd?

His decline in pretty much all aspects of hitting between 2021 and 2022 into 2023 aside from a 3% increase in walk rate which was washed out by the massive drop in batting average anyway is inexplicable to me. His power completely disappeared. Not just the HRs, but even the doubles got more than cut in half too.

I can't explain it other than pitchers adjusted to him and he didn't adjust back. It'd be great for this router's flexibility if he could be the 25+ HR guy he was in 21, but he kind of looks like a worse version of Travis Shaw.

Still the same fatal flaw (worst hit tool in baseball)

This is so loaded with “what ifs” that it is so easy to say no thanks.

No way this piece of shit should ever play another out in the MLB.

Way too much smoke around this for those allegations to not be true.
He was what 18 or 19 max when they met?

Totally the same thing as a 50 year old having a relationship with a minor don’t let him work and end his career. No tolerance on this 18 year olds are adults and deserve the same punishment as someone that is in their 30s or 40s.

Because I like random trivia factoids, here's one I just looked up

The Red Sox played at Fenway Park on the night that Cheers premiered in 1982 and on the night Cheers ended in 1993. One player appeared in both games, who was it?

Today is National Throttle Day

Let’s Go Red Sox!!!!!

For a guy who paints his fingernails, Cornrows might be the worst stylistic decision he's made.

The answer was under spoiler tags in the original post, but nope, not Cal. The player is a hall of famer though and eventually became a manager.
The guys off the field life was pretty wild for someone I look at as almost the perfect player/person as far as basebsll players go

A big fan of him regardless

A deal built around Duran for Kim works for me

Sign Teoscar

Trade Mayer in a package for Kirby (after he threw knuckleball to honor Wakefield we need him)

Sign Montgomery (backup Giolito)

Build a super bullpen

In
Montgomery or Giolito
Kirby
Kim
Teoscar

Out
$
Duran
Mayer

Let’s Go Red Sox

Dalbec has no future with the Sox at this point. Red Sox did to him what they did with Blake Swihart and it's annoying.

Cornrows Casas is hitting 43 home runs
He does that, NESN needs to give him a weekly show called I Gotta Be Me where he sits behind a desk shirtless interviewing players and celebrities from Boston

Lord knows Mrs. Henry will never let it happen, but signing Bauer would be a great discount move for the Sox. A hell of a better player than anything currently on the scrap heap.

Honestly Bauer would be the fastest route back to competitiveness, optics be damned. Still an ace pitcher which they haven't had since Sale was healthy in 2018.

It's going to put teams in a tight situation but I think it's a storm that can be weathered in a baseball market like Boston.

It's not even a storm that really needs to be weathered IMO. Point out that he was accused and subsequently vindicated both legally and publicly when the actions/intentions of his accuser came to light and leave it at that. Let the media hoard do what they want, they'll find a reason to complain about anything.
