He’s not good enough for the cost he’d take to get. And doesn’t fill a need for us, would be a good option in our bottom 6 but would be a worse JTC at 2C.

I am in agreement with you BUT I do think it's important to highlight the depth improvements the team has made on the 3rd+4th line this season - as compared to what we had last season and other seasons before the cup year.

Would we have been a 1st round exit last year had we had Colton+Wood+Parise in the bottom-6 even if we had a less than ideal #JT2C?

That's a tough one to say for sure but I DON'T think so, personally.

As stated earlier, my preference is to get a real #2C that fills the slot for sure but I'd they can't, I think adding guys like Kerfoot, Wennberg aren't going to help as much as a guy like Laughton would because his game is suited for the playoffs.

He put up 43 points last year and is on pace for 42 again this year.

If the Avs can't get a real #2C but can get Laughton + Walker at 50% - that's a lot better than say Wennberg, to me anyways.

At the point that if CMac can't get a legitimate 2C option for multiple years, he may as well just ride this group out or only add at bargain prices.

I know every year there are upsets, but there are about 2-3 teams who I think are set up to be final boss level problems, and without a true 2C, I don't think the Avs would fare well.
