yeah Avs are spinning in circles. All this could have been prevented if they just kept Kadri lol.

Now spending assets and young roster players that didn't have to be done. I know Byram likely asked out but now I think we have to trade Ritchie to keep up with Vegas and the Oilers and they may as well now.

Mitts might not pan out but it all in this year now. The window is shut after this year unless they trade Mikko

I'm partying right through to the deadline , ai don't know why teams can't wait until the deadline and make that day something for the fans
OK chicken little

I said this yesterday...

That's every f***ing trade any one makes. Look at Vancouver with getting Zadorov and Lindholm, sure seemed like they were winning those trades at the time, and how has that worked out for them? They're currently looking to unload Lindholm.

At the time of the trade, our most knowledgeable posters here weren't necessarily praising CMac for acquiring RyJo--rather they were pointing out that it was very much a Boom/Bust trade. If it had boomed, then he'd be hailed as a genius, but there was always very real risk that it would bust. And it did. But he also got to try that boom/bust (with Nashville retaining 50%) by giving up Alex Galchenyuk.

Seriously dude...at some point you have to just admit when you're wrong about things. He admitted last night that RyJo wasn't working so they had to fix it, and they went out and did it. The whole "it remains to be seen whether it works" is just some goalpost moving here.
Not sure why I'm not allowed to give him credit making an effort, but give the move an incomplete grade for effectiveness.

Love the aggressiveness and effort, it showed me he understood the assignment. Hoping it will solve the problem.

Doesn't mention the Avs like Elliote does

Not sure why we wouldn’t be in the running anymore, but based on what the Pens are rumored to want (particularly a current roster player), I feel like they told us to include Lehky or LOC and we told Dubas to pound sound.

Also not sure how FL can be in it with their assets (which are even more limited than ours).

We can give them Drouin if they want a roster player. He’s having a very good season. 50 point pace. Probably not gonna be able to resign JD anyway

why that would be an awesome trade

Toews - Makar
Chabot - Manson
Girard -Walker

Mack
Mitts
Colton
Greig

Landy
Guentzel
Nuke
Drouin
Lecky
You're trading a Top-5 winger in the league for an overpaid defensemen (Chabot makes 8/year) and a C that you apparently want to play at 4C...not a great use of assets or remaining cap space. Not to mention, Ritchie could very well turn out as good as Greig. So in essence you're trading Rantanen for Chabot, which is brutal trade.

Guentzel would also then eat up all the rest of our available future assets. So you take 5 steps back to take one step forward.

Jusse Saros and Jeremy Lauzon. Then pair Lauzon with Manson and let them destroy people.
The key questions are (1) whether Saros is actually available, and if so (2) what would actually get it done (and be enough to beat any/everyone else’s offer)?

Does a 1st + Gulyayev + Georgie get that done? I think we’d probably have to include at least 1 more legit asset to beat the other offers and convince NSH to trade with us.

Because your reasoning for giving him an incomplete makes no sense. You're acting as if CMac is the only GM that could have a trade go sideways, and that's just not the case.

You so clearly do not want to give him any credit whatsoever. He deserved flak for last year's TDL, absolutely, but he clearly has learned. He's been more aggressive in trading off players before they lose their value (Newhook, and now Byram). He took a gamble on RyJo and it blew up. But he traded him before the deadline AND didn't have to retain salary to do so, all while getting back a damn good defender that allowed him to trade Byram before his value started tanking.

He also opened up cap space that gives him flexibility to make more moves.

He's knocking his TDL out of the park.

The whole "can't judge him until his moves hit" is a thinly-veiled reason to continue bashing him.

I'd be so happy if they swapped out George for Saros...I know Saros hasn't been great this year but his potential to be a Vezina candidate > Georgie's
