Somehow we got the best D-man available, and the best Centre available, while giving up one of the least favorite players of all time. Amazing, really.

Now we need a 4C. Wagner ain't gonna cut it. I could see Malinksi being dealt now for a vet 4C.

We also need a goalie, Fourgiev inspires no confidence. Let's get Ingram and he can take over as the starter.

Finally, it wouldn't hurt to acquire a vet LD for the bottom pair, rotating him with JJ so that Jack is rested for a long run

Is there anybody with term we could get that would be a better option than a rental?

Do we want anyone with term aside from a Nic Dowd type? We've got huge pending cap problems this offseason with Landy returning and Mittelstadt needing a new contract -- not to mention if they try to re-sign Walker.

The only place I'd want someone with term is Georgiev++ for Saros.

I don't think you really want any term right now. The Avs have 10 forwards under contract next year with Mitts as an arbitration eligible RFA. On defense 4 of the top 5 defensemen are signed with Behrens and Malinksi as young depth options. Having another skater with term would actually limit the flexibility in the summer to make tweaks and hopefully avoid and contract issues with Mitts.

Now a goalie that is cheap with term might be a different story.

Jones is fine as far as a 7th LD to rotate in for JJ.

gotta be careful not to piss off the players or disrupt team chemistry.

Guentz coming in pushes Drouin down but also we have Landy and Kovy coming for the playoffs.

That pushes Cogs, Wagner , LOC, and Wood into roles they maybe scratched for. It would prob be wagner.
