I disagree. If we had any player who put up that kind of regular season production, we’d build a statue for him outside UBS
Panarin and Secretariat?

That was honestly one of the most embarrassing performances by a team winning to go to the cup finals I have ever seen. Edmonton is the essence of mediocrity. They have three or four great players and the rest is nothing special. Outshot 35-10. Florida honestly should win in 5. Is it guaranteed? No, but I would be shocked if Florida does not win this in 5 or at most 6.

I didn’t see tonight’s game.

But I agree that FLA wins in 6 or fewer. They are just too good.

Definitely a more than mediocre performance from Edmonton, but likewise Dallas not being able to pull off a win in a do or die game like this makes it apparent they have no business playing for the Cup. Outshot Edmonton 35-10, out hit them 31-18, beat them in the dot 57% to 43%, and 0-3 on the PP. Just an embarrassing game all around for both teams. I agree that Florida should handle Edmonton but McDavid being an x-factor should at least make it an exciting series.

That was just ugly last night. Glad Edmonton won, this way Florida gets home ice.

The essence of mediocrity and Connor McDavid cannot exist in the same post.

I understand the sentiment, but any team with McDavid on it cannot be referred to as mediocre. He's that f***ing good.

The amount of people on the Ranger board saying "blow it up" is staggering.
I swear this whole HF boards is just 12 bots with 100s of user names, and just repeats the same algorithm for each team.

Team X needs a top line winger to play with Y and Z. Also need a top 4 D.

Y and Z is barzal and horvat

For rags, it’s kreider and Mika.

Plug in any team and get same answer.

The amount of people on this board saying "don't blow it up" is equally staggering.

I guess there's some kind of comfort in mediocrity.

I think there are people who differ in your viewpoint of how to make changes to create a contender. Blowing it up for hopes and dreams in 5 years is not the ONLY way to build a team. Differing in viewpoint does not mean content with the current roster.

In fact I think you would find it difficult to find a poster who wants to run it back again.

Blowing it up now isn’t even an option anymore. We reached that crossroads 3 years ago and went the wrong way.

Well, my other handles are Strummergas and Nizami Ganjavi. This way, I get to argue with myself!!

It's not too late for those who want to blow it up. Right now, and at the draft, Sorokin has no trade protection. Ditto for Barzal. Dobson and Romanov can also be dealt with zero restrictions. Nelson and Palmieri can submit no trade lists, but they can be dealt too.

You trade all those guys for futures, and then guys with full trade protection like Horvat, Pelech, Pulock, Varlamov, etc. will waive gladly. You don't even have to trade all of those guys. Just enough to be bad enough to be a lottery team for a handful of years.

Interesting stat: the top 4 picks from the 2014 draft will all be playing in the SCF (Ekblad, Reinhart, Draisaitl, Bennett). Dal Colle going fifth, of course :help:
That draft was garbage for the Islanders save for Ilya and Toews. Terrible.
