Demidov, Celebrini, Dickinson, and Silayev is who I would group that I would want the most.

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it until draft day: I do not want Levshunov. Besides being big and a RHD, just way to many questions surrounding his game.

We need talent right away, not a project

Isn’t Silayev a project though?
It’s hard to say whether he really is. It could be just him playing in a top men’s league full time at age 18 - you could put virtually all defensive prospects from the past 10 years into such a position and they wouldn’t look as dominant, complete and polished as you can playing junior or even college hockey. Mo Seider didn’t produce much better in a weaker league, and he didn’t turn out to be too much of a project (even though the Red Wings did take their time with him, having him play in the A one season and then on loan in Sweden for another, the latter decision probably having been impacted by covid to some degree). It will be up to the more professional scouts to really evaluate the skillsets and figure out what is actual rawness and what’s just an effect of the difference in circumstances.

Honestly, I do not see much difference down the road between Celebrini and Demidov. For me Demidov has even the higher upside but is more risky. For some reason I am not really concerned about the lottery. If we get Celebrini great, if not, there are a hand full of exciting prospects in there. We will get a good one and for some reason I hope it is Demidov :)

Here is the reason why:

I get a lot of Alexei Kovalev vibes here.

Isn’t Silayev a project though?
I do have a big concern with him. I doubt he will become what the possible upside may be.

Blood Sacrifice the other 31 NHL teams then we might have an outside chance.
Seems a bit too much. Anything that could be actually doable?

Like, idk drink a beer, shake a pingpong ball, weat underpants the inside out, something like that?

What ritual should we make to try to win this lottery?
Last year, I got home from a rec league hockey game, cursed and jumped around when the first pick was announced. I’m going to do none of these things today, so I’m doing my part in changing our fortune.

In compare to Owen Power who's close to his size, Owen doesn't have the big bomb or mean streak of Silayev. I just wish he was already playing in NA, I imagine he would have destroyed the juniors or NCAA lol.

I just hope the Ducks get the Dman they really want. In hindsight it sounds like Murray/Madden really wanted Sanderson in 2020.
I think we can all agree there was no chance Murray proffered little glassdale over Sanderson

You know after all these years rebuilding I think I want to win the draft lottery more than I even necessarily care about drafting Celebrini
Would be somewhat satisfying considering losing out in 05 and last year. Though Celebrini isn't in the same level.

What matters is not how polished a guy is now, but what they'll be in 4-6 years. It sounds like hardly any of these guys are gonna be NHL ready right away, especially the dmen. And even when guys play at 18 or 19, they're rarely immediate stars.

Chris freaking Pronger struggled in the NHL his first few years, and he was way better and more polished than any of these blueliners, heck he was probably the most flawless dman prospect in my lifetime.

100% agree here.

1. Outside of Cellebrini, I doing anyone in this draft is playing in the NHL for long periods this season.

2. Ducks aren't going to be Cup contenders for awhile. Get the player who will beat help with that. Even a very optimistic timeline puts that at 3 years. This team finished with 59 points. Maybe they were better and got unlucky with injuries. Maybe true talent, they were more like a 70 point team. Even with another big step forward and great health, that gets them to 85 points. That's still not likely to make the playoffs. Then the year after that they get to the mid 90s. The year after that they are true cup contenders. Any of the top guys could be ready by then. Pick the best player.
