Ya after celebrini it’s kinda wide open at 2….

Could see a team fall in love with any of Lindstrom, catton, silayev, levshunov, Dickinson Eiserman , buium.

Crazy that the hawks and sharks are getting top 15 picks potentially on top of top 3 picks via trades… they really lucked out with Pitt and lighting…. Something we never got lucky with
Expect the Chicago's traded pick to win the lottery so it moves up 10 spots into the top 10 and they keep first overall. I might vomit if that actually happened.

The Twilight Zone
When a player is putting up insane offensive numbers and not getting the respect in the rankings that means there is a lot missing from his game to me

And sometimes they're so concerned with what's missing that they don't see a special talent right in front of them, who has deficiencies but can also do things nobody else can.

I'm curious what the threshold is when the scouting staff is forced to take him seriously as an option. He's Drysdale size and RH shot, so it would be kind of funny.

If he's the BPA when the Ducks pick, take him. You can always flip talent more easily than you can flip a less "flawed" player who isn't as good.

There is some good dmen that will be around in 2nd and 3rd round too

I like shutdown guys like EJ Emery and Charlie Elick, both RHD's, that are projected late first to early 2nd round.

The D class this year is so good and deep. I would love for us to get another first to grab 2 of them

I'd rather try to actually draft a top-6, scoring forward potential this time around if we end up with another 1st round pick. You know, trying to avoid trading yet another more polished, prospect d-man to find a scoring forward.

Ya I’m hoping emery is around for our 2nd round pick…. But I think he’ll be taken in late 1st

Dickerson with our 1st and Emery with our 2nd is my hope for the draft. Gives us a strong defensive D line for the future.

I prefer levshunov over Dickinson, also hoping to get another pick in late 1st or early 2nd…. Wouldn’t mind packaging our late 2nd with a 3rd (+) to move up

Guys like Kiviharju and mews also intriguing, not sure how far they fall tho

There are a ton of interesting big two way dmen this year and I was thinking Emery might be available with our early 2nd… he looks like a typical Hurricane defender with good size and mobility with a bit of offensive upside, like a Pesce.

However, I worry about sign-ability. He’s a Canuck fan and he might need more than 3 years to develop in college.

Fischer, Pulkkinen, Solberg are interesting but are LHD. Elick might be a McNabb type, but our scouts prefer guys with more offensive upside in the early picks. Maybe Colton Roberts could be a fit… big shot that we are seeking on the PP, good size and mean, but needs to work on his defense??? He’s leading his team with the worst… -31!!!

We didn’t even get lucky there. We were looking at a potential top 5 pick that season, and then Ottawa inexplicably won like 7 or 8 games in a row (or maybe 8 of 10 or something like that) to close out the season and screw our pick.

I still have nightmares about not being able to take Ehlers instead of this bonehead.

Agreed we should only draft players that were duck fans growing up to make sure they stay with us

One person's opinion but this is a sobering assessment of Levshunov...

Upcoming draft
5th Overall Trevor Connelly
36th Overall Will Skahan
58th Overall Tanner Henricks
65th Overall Chase Stefaneck
68th Overall Colin Frank
After that I don’t know our options. Maybe just package a bunch of draft capital together to get all of Connelly, Buium, and Skahan in the first 36 picks then grab the others with remaining late round picks.

Yeah… maybe not. The first few picks could be worse though.

Was hoping Emery would fly under the radar a bit more, but it’s lookin more likely he’s going to be off board by our 2nd

What
Can always try to move up from the 30s back into the first round if they really like a certain prospect. That's part of the reason why you stack up picks
Ya, i think they tried last year to do that... but teams were asking too much... and i imagine this will be a similar case this year.

But PV showed with the Gauthier trade that hes willing to overpay to get a player he really wants.
