I agree, good stuff rt. But I noticed that you're hiding Jankowski and his lack of Stanley Cups. I guess we're gonna have to win one soon to make that right.
Right. Jankowksi. He doesn’t necessarily have the siizzle on his resume but he has 11 years of chief scout/AGM/director of amateur scouting/yada yada for three NHL teams and four for Team Canada. Compare that with the guys Chayka brought it from the OHL

In days gone by, he’d have been the crown jewel
of the whole operation, and now we’ve reached a point where I literally forgot about him. Progress.

Good year for RHD, plenty to choose from- Levshunov, Mews, Parekh, Jiříček, Yakemchuk, Cristoforo, and Badinka.

And Elick

Crazy to think Jiricek is likely gone when we pick. When was the last time we could say that with a straight face? Haha
I don’t know. He could be there. I think we’re picking 6th, 7th, 8th or 9th. Right now (and soooooo much could change, and always does) Levshunov is 1st on most lists among D and Dickinson is 2nd on most lists. Celebrini, Eiserman, and Demidov are the top three on most lists. That’s five names right there.

Sounds like Berkly Catton is putting on a show and making a case for himself in the Top 5. That’s good news. The more exciting prospects that can crowd that top ten, the better.

This draft is getting exciting. Very much feels like 2016, which followed the elite McDavid year which 2023 feels similar too. Had some true top end talent (especially at wing) and lots of defensemen

With Carter Yakemchuk, I wonder if his being really old for his draft class might be a feature rather than a bug for us. A big, right shot defenseman with a howitzer shot, pretty good mobility, and a physical edge should be right up our alley. If he’s a bit closer to pro ready because he’s a bit older, why is that necessarily bad? Defensemen take so long. I’m not mad Moser was old. I’m glad.

I see the plan now!

Get two giant Russian in 2023. Then improve the team and take Demidov when he falls next draft (or move up to get him).

:Insert "it was always Demidov" meme here:

Keller-Cooley-Guenther
But-Haytov-Demidov
Maccelli-Geekie-Crose

It was right in front of us the whole time
Fixed that for you. Need to turn the n upside down.

Brock has spoken. Watching Canada vs Czechia on YouTube and Dickinson has the size and skating. He plays physical and can skate it into the OZ.
