Have I missed something? Has Buium stock skyrocketed lately? All the rankings have him at 8th at best, not 3rd.
Draft rankings are always slow to update. Look no further than 2022 for that. But Buium is that good. Out of all BCs opponents, outside of Celebrini, he's impressed the most.

Lev, on the other hand, left me wanting more. The way people were talking about him I felt like I was missing something or caught him on a bad couple of games. I mean, they were playing BC. Then I saw him during the playoffs and while he did look more engaged, his play is just so inconsistent. Yes, he is young and doesn't have much structured hockey under his belt, which is why another year in college would do wonders for him. Not a fan of his camp pushing for the pros. I understand, but not a fan. Love his tools, though.

Lindstrom is another favorite of mine. Sadly, he only played a few games after recovering from back surgery before his team got bounced from the playoffs. Fortunately, we'll get to see him again in the U18s.

I could be misremembering, but I believe Grier has personally attended both Lindstrom and Lev's games.

The last guy I'd argue top 3 for is Demidov, who oozes talent. At the beginning of the season it was Macklin or bust. Fortunately for us, guys like Buium and Demidov are stepping up and becoming more than mere consolation prizes. Regardless of where the balls drop, we'll be getting a cornerstone player.

Genuinely can’t decide who I want for 2-3 — Buium for personal attachment reasons, Levshunov for ceiling, Demidov for pure entertainment and skill. I have been happy with Grier’s scouting so far, so I’m going to sort of assume that whoever they pick they had a good reason to do so, unless they go entirely off the wall.

No matter what, we’re going to get a potentially great piece for the future.

Unfortunately we won't. Neither he nor Catton will play, is my understanding. It's the injury - which could see him drop to the back end of the top 10.

As per mocks and stuff he isn't there yet, but Zeev just has that it factor. He makes things go. He makes things happen. His size isn't an attribute like it is for some guys, but it isn't a detriment either. I reckon he'll settle in at that Keith/Letang build ~6'0 ~200lbs. He isn't the fastest, but he has great acceleration and his edges are some of the best in the class. His hands are silk and he's better defensively than you think. He plays bigger than he is. He's so impressively composed on either side of the puck.

He's been so clutch all season.

He scored in OT in the semis of the NCAC to send Denver to final (which they won & he had an assist in the final). He paralyzed the #1 team in the country with the play that put the Frozen Four out of reach. He's the highest producing college freshman defender in modern history.

Blew me away today. The wünder assist aside, Carle had Denver sitting in a 1-2-2 block and they completely stifled BC. He was a huge part of that. Effortless machine.

Such a cool player.

He's in my second tier alongside Demidov, but I've loved the player all year and I've maintained this stance. Lindstrom and Levshunov are clawing at the door. Can't really go wrong. It's personal preference.

This makes me very pumped for being locked for top-3 pick. Man, I can't wait for the draft. I can't wait to see what our haul will be. I can't wait to see what our haul will be next year. Rebuilding takes time, but the thought of seeing our picks becoming stars is an exciting thought. Every time I see Celebrini/Demidov/Buium scores, I'll be glad that we suck so bad and got him in 2024.

Win the lottery, trade the Vegas+PIT picks to move up and take Buium, prosper
Could probably trade picks 33 and 14 to move up for one of Buium, Dickinson, or Parekh. That would only happen though if the Sharks picked Celebrini Id think. If they pick 2nd id be happy with Levshunov and one of Iginla / Helenius / Brandsegg-Nygård with the mid pick

I have said it before but if they pick #2 and get Lev + another D they can really change the outlook of the defensive group on draft night. And gives them the ability to take a high end forward next year, hopefully a true #1C

I think 14 + 33 might be able to get them into the 7/8 pick range. If their guy falls, why not go get em. Imagine Levshunov and Buium top pair for 12 years
