The NHL isn't gonna let Demidov or Celebrini go to Montreal.
We can wish for Lindstrom, Eiserman, Iginla or Catton.
But pretty sure Mtl picks 5th or 6th and Lindstrom is gone by then.
Then MTL picks a defensman anyway o_O

I heard Macklin is already shopping for an apartment in Montreal.

For his cousin.

1st, I don’t but these conspiracy theories about the 1OV. If it were true, Arizona would have landed Matthews to save the franchise.

And if you wanted to go there, I think the NHL would rave about Mtl getting Celebrini and a good team and have that rivalry back with prime Toronto and Boston

MTL are drafting one of these 6 players IMO.

Celebrini
Demidov
Lindstrom
Catton
Helenius
Iginla

Said it in the tank thread

1 - Celebrini
2 - Demidov
5 - Lindstrom
6 - Catton
7 - Iginla

They are taking a forward, so it should be one of those dudes.
You don't think Helenius is in the discussion?

Watch us all celebrate our #5-7 OA draft position today only to see Demidov be available to us and then see them draft frickin Helenius.
It's a possibility, unfortunately, but I think they'd pick Iginla before that. The name, the performances...

We can't wait for the frickin Combine can we?

It's extremely rare for a 17 year old to put up the offensive production in Liiga that Helenius did this season. In addition, he has a well rounded defensive game with high compete level and very high IQ. He would have torched the CHL and not had the same question marks that many of the top forward prospects from the CHL have.

I don't think he will be the choice at 5 or 6. But definitely at 7 he is a pretty good choice.

At 5 no. At 6 maybe. At 7 definitely.

What are the needs for each teams ?

Sharks : Everything ?
Hawks : Top RHD (Levshunov)
Ducks : RHD (since they traded Drysdale) (Parekh)
Columbus : LHD (Dickinson) but i see them picking Lindstrom.
ARI : D (Buium or Saliyev) I see them picking Demidov
MTL : RW (Demidov or Catton)
OTT : Nothing .... ;-) a RHD i guess. (Yakemchuk)
Seattle: Top D for sure (Saliyev)
CGY : ? not sure.. Iginla is probably their target.
Columbus has Werenski and Mateychuk coming up on the left side. They will for sure take a forward. Not sure if they prioritize center, they might, in which case they'd go Lindstrom, but they could also take Demidov.

I think both Hawks and Ducks would take Levshunov if available. It's difficult to see Anaheim going LD in case Levshunov is not available, but I don't know if they'd go Parekh as backup, they could go for a forward (probably Demidov) instead or maybe even reach for Yakemchuk. Hawks on the other hand could take one of the LD (probably Buium?).

(of course everyone would take Celebrini at #1)

I would not be surprised at all to learn that Helenius is actually much higher on HuGos list than people might think. If we stay put at #5, he could be a dark horse favorite. He has a lot of the pro tools and intangibles the scouting staff seems to really value highly. If they buy the Sebastian Aho-lite upside, they might really want him.

I will trash my TV if they draft a "defensively responsible C with a high compete" with meh skaiting from the Liiga in the top 10.

At least KK and Lundell were somewhat tall/big.

That would be a frickin disaster. Gimme a D before that.

We need high octane scoring.

I like Helenius but he doesn't have anything even resembling Aho's skating. Maybe if he works with Barb he can get there but regardless I don't see the upside. 2C ceiling IMO which is great but I'd rather take a swing at a Demidov or a Catton personally.
