Underrated strong game from Noah Philip tonight. Smart, smart player. I have a feeling he's going to be in this league for a while.

100%. Like Nuge, Philp is elite at little underrated impacts.

His AHL season was like a movie, literally zero to hero, week to week development. It looked a lot like the last two weeks, and just continued all season.

Also the Oilers brought Philp up at the exact right time imo, it really did take him this long to find his game in the AHL, and that decision should be celebrated because Oilers.

Twice tonite he had a chance to be a bigtime player....he had a tired line and flew up the wing where he could of pulled a Hyman and cut wide to the net.
Next he had a lane right up the middle.
Both were guaranteed breaks but he elected to slow down.

I'm not going to deny the stats because he was on the right side of it for the most part. But watching him play is painful, not a good skater and kills so many plays. He was unlucky not to get one tonight. I don't predict great things for him here and if there is any suitors I'd shed that contract for any other need.
