#1D on your board vs the #5 forward. It’s an easy decision for them to make. Then you can trade for an NHL or NHL-ready forward.

That’s an insane Top-4
It depends how good they think the no. 5 forward projects to be down the road, so no, it’s not it an easy decision in the real world. If they have Eiserman ranked as the 5th forward but project him as a consistent 35-40 goal per season scorer, then they’ll probably take him over the top ranked D anyway.

The fact there's absolutely no talk about winning the Celebrini lottery makes me think we might actually win it.

But then I just jinxed us, right?
Naw, you only jinxed yourself. You'll go the next 15-20 years thinking Chicago drafted Celebrini but he'll be playing for Mtl all those years. Please don't ask me to explain it. It's a mind thing. It works in mysterious ways.

My prediction is history repeats itself

Celebrini, Lindstrom and Iginla are gone by our pick and we have the option to pick Demidov or a D and we go D

I would be shocked if that's how it played out. Teams don't often have the chance to pick high talent defensemen and they will. Really doubt theyll pick a bunch of wingers.

Like is tough. Iggy has higher offense in him IMO. Leonard is a personal favorite though, love the way he plays, hes gonna be so useful for a team.

Didn't you have Leonard at, like, 14 ? Should be Iginla quite easily for you no ?

Guhle, LM and Reinbacher. That’s three D as first picks in the last 4 drafts. They’re not taking a D with pick 2, or 5-9.

This management group has used 1 of their 3 first round picks on a D.......not really a trend that screams that they won't take a D especially if Levshunov is available

If I remember well I had him at 8th right after Wood and Smith in my final list.

Funny, because Id pick literally everyone else /Wood and Smith before Iginla from the 2023 list I had.

Iggy ranks higher in this draft, but this draft is just weaker IMO, at least for the top 6.

I guess Id take Iggy 9/10, its just Leonard is also a beauty.

Makes sense. I wish Florida could've tanked the year and we got 8th. Reinbacher + Leonard in the draft would have been incredible.

Or Benson, sigh. Imagine swapping Benson and Cole on that top line? Wed basically have Marchand/Bergeron with some sort of humongous wrecking ball next to them. Cole could either be traded or used on the 2nd line with Dachster and whoever.

And then dont get me started on the depth of having Roy-Newie on the third.

Then this year we couldve focused on Iggy/lindstrom for Dachs wing or Levshunov for the rd.

Okay i need sleep.

Yeah, I like Cole, but Benson looks like he'll be a hell of a player. Extremely skilled, competitive and smart. Im still pissed about all these teams choking away the playoffs last year. We were so damn close to getting that top 16 pick.
