Sennecke has been on my radar for the Jets pick for a while, mainly as my main option, I'm starting to worry he won't make it
But if Yakemchuk drops even close to 15, we NEED to do everything possible to move up and get him
There is no way Yakemchuk falls to 18 like where Elite Prospects has him ranked. He's a 6foot3 RD who just scored 30 goals in the Dub and has a mean streak. I wouldn't be surprised if he goes before all the forwards not named Celebrini, Demidov or Lindstrom.

Sennecke also likely won't fall to the Jets pick. He grew a few inches in the last year, produced well and hasn't grown into his large frame yet. He has some raw upside and will be a riser on draft lists.

Sennecke seems to be coming on. I think with Jets pick Luchanko, Baska, Vanacker, or Letourneau. One of those more likely

The posters who made such claims and any fake scouting services who may have made these claims (I don't recall any that did so) are entirely without credibility and you shouldn't mistake volume for credibility.
From EliteProspect 2019 (website doesn't list who wrote it at EP, it's part of their Caufield's page): Defensively, [Caufield]he’s uncomfortable having the puck in his own end for long and he’ll make the extra effort to pressure around the blue line and take away cross-ice options.

There was another one I've seen that said he was making efforts defensively, but his size made him inefficient at it, but I don't remember the site. But multiple scouts seems to like his effort defensively (none called him good at it fyi).

What I do know about scouting draft year defense reports is that if the kid backcheck, tries to block passes/passing lane and is not cheating all the time they get a good marks at defense. It's effort/intent that is evaluated more than the quality of their defense for offensive minded players.

Isn't his skating an issue as well? I'm super leery of drafting him
Not that I can see. Eiserman is actually a pretty good skater, he's just far from the best of the class. The main concern folks are having is that he may very well just be a one-trick pony at the NHL level. He doesn't exactly do tons on the ice, if it's not getting in position to rip a goal on a one-timer.

Why dont you see it with Buium?
In my (admittedly) limited viewings of him, I find he gets tunnel vision a bit too often for my taste and can try to do too much in the high danger area of the other team's blue line. I could be wrong and he could very well work out those kinks, and maybe I'm being unfair to him because I have to watch Matheson so often, but he seems to me more like a very good 2/3D, about the same as I had Reinbacher last year.

I'm warming up to Catton.

Don't think he's the best fit, but his ability to make plays at high speed and his dynamism on in-zone offense is rare and we have none of that.
That's why I personally wouldn't be too concerned with size when it comes to our pick.

We're still desperate for high end forwards that have high hockey IQ and the skills to deliver on it. If our scouts think Catton is the most likely of the bunch to be that guy then go for it. Picking for size because we have guys like Roy/Farrell/Mesar in the system would be foolish. If you take Catton and he pans out then you kick those guys to the curb and look for bigger replacements.

We need to get bigger up front...I'd prefer Lindstrom/Iggy but if we choose Catton I'm still content as he is a special player....we just have to fire RHP/Gally/Farrell/Mesar into the sun

To me he has the best tools out of anyone. I havent really seen the tunnel vision, but even so, Slaf had and still has that and I dont think its going to limit him at all from becoming a prime offensive contributor, so im definitely learning from that one.

Making plays at high speed is probably the only thing weve been missing for the past... Forever? Lol. It sure would be nice to have a guy like Point.

I am not as well informed as some of you fine folk with all the tape watching and such... but with that, I'm also not as entrenched on my opinion of each prospects... it changes semi daily... but as of now, I'm starting to solidify my top wish list for this draft.

Here are my ranking tiers based purely on wanting the best chance at an offensive star

Celebrini

Demidov

Catton
Lindstrom
Iginla

Eiserman
Helenius
Levshunov
Parekh
Dickinson
Buium

But, I know that list will change again in a few days im sure lol .... really I will be happy with any one on that list.

P.S. I love reading all your opinions and appreciate the work some of you guys put into scouting these kids, making videos, watching them live and forming reports... it makes it Hella easier and more accessible to a regular hockey nut like me. so huge thanks to all you!

Whoever is top of their list when it’s there turn, they should pick.

BPA

Made two giant mistakes with KK and Gal
Gal probably was BPA….KK was a stretch but many were ok with the pick. Lots of love for Q.Hughes at the time.

Don’t think Slaf was slam dunk BPA and so far looks like the clear runaway favourite for his class.
